iPhone 5S vs. the Competition [CHART]

iPhone 5S vs. the Competition [CHART] | Facebook & Company | Scoop.it
We’ve assembled a comprehensive comparison chart detailing how the new iPhone 5S stacks up against the Samsung Galaxy S4, Nokia Lumia 1020 and the HTC One.
Pedro Barbosa's insight:

Here's why.

The Brand Storyteller’s Social Media Sizing Cheat Sheet #infographic

The Brand Storyteller’s Social Media Sizing Cheat Sheet #infographic | Facebook & Company | Scoop.it

When we tell stories we often need to consider our format. Are we in front of a large audience, or just a small room? Are we using a projector (so we need to stay out of the way of the light) or a large monitor? Do we have an hour or just 20 minutes? Is this a technical white paper or a short blog post? Is this an industry article (with understood industry jargon) or an article for a general audience? Is this a long video or a quick clip.

The possibilities for telling your brand story seem endless. But they exist within frameworks.

It may seem a preposterous question to ask, but there are signs that make it a serious and current one: a growing number of longterm users are abandoning the network and the same goes for teenagers.  Fatigue is increasing among those who use the social network, while in the stock market, Facebook is still under pressure.

With this scenario as a starting point, the book "The End of Facebook", explores the reasons for consumer fatigue and where those who are dissatisfied are migrating to, in an unprecedented revelation of what Facebook will become over the next few years.

Pedro Barbosa's insight:

Nanotechnology solutions to combat superbugs

Nanotechnology solutions to combat superbugs | Facebook & Company | Scoop.it

The emergence of superbugs has made it imperative to search for novel methods, which can combat the microbial resistance. Thus, application of nanotechnology in pharmaceuticals and microbiology is gaining importance to prevent the catastrophic consequences of antibiotic resistance. Nanotechnology based approaches are advantageous to improve various preventive measures such as coatings and filtration. Similarly, diagnosis using efficient nanosensors or probes can speed up the treatment process at an early stage of disease. Nano-based drug carriers for existing antibiotics enhance their bioavailability and make them more targets specific. Also the combination of nanoparticles (NPs) along with antibiotics makes them more lethal for micro-organisms.

Looking for a Life Less Mobile

Looking for a Life Less Mobile | Facebook & Company | Scoop.it
When people talk about the 'born mobile' generation, they're talking about me.
Pedro Barbosa's insight:

When I wrote"Speculations and Trends " back in 2009 and the first of the  "Harvard Trends" books in 2011, i mentioned the trend of hyper connectivity and a new need: the skill to be off.

On/Off trade management is today one of the most important skills to reach balance and efficiency. And this is where we are now. Hyperconnectivity will increase and a new contratrend to be lesse mobile will erase as a consequence.

Ultimately, on and off will be fusioned into one, but the powre to be off to rtenrest of the world will still be a major skill, which not all of us  will be able to achieve. The gains to be good at this balance are both professional and personal.
