Are Social Signals The Key to Google Rankings? | Marketing&Advertising | Scoop.it

Does Google use social signals as a ranking factor? A lot of folks seem to think so. Are they wrong? Or is the answer a bit more complex?

"67.6 percent of all items were shared using Circles and 33.8 percent of items were shared publicly (these percentages add up to more than 100 percent since some users combined sharing options for posts)".

Facebook to Marketers, It’s Time for a Click to Action - Brian Solis

Facebook to Marketers, It’s Time for a Click to Action - Brian Solis | Marketing&Advertising | Scoop.it

You Like me…you really Like me. Wait. Maybe you don’t really Like me after all. According to our Facebook engagement metrics, only 1% of you actually react when we post. So, to keep the numbers up, our team posts more often, asks questions, runs polls, curates content, introduces more and more contests, and asks for your help to submit your pics and videos as part of our “user-generated” content campaigns. We measure success by the Likes, comments, shares, the number of conversations, and reach. While the Likes are rising, we’re starting to recognize the pattern…I guess we never really defined why you should “Like” us beyond the initial click. We just took for granted that a Like equated to an opt-in.

Social Sharing: Twitter has highest amplification rate, email has highest conversion rate | Marketingsherpa Blog | Marketing&Advertising | Scoop.it
Social referral programs allow companies to tap into their customer advocates to promote their brands, products and services by getting those customers to share within their social networks.

These programs then track the shares through to the conversion, whether that is a sale, an opt-in or a coupon redemption.

Extole recently conducted research on 20% of its customer base with an average data collection length of 45 weeks, and this research uncovered some interesting data points on social sharing among different companies....

How to Identify Relevant Online Influencers with These 3 Tools

How to Identify Relevant Online Influencers with These 3 Tools | Marketing&Advertising | Scoop.it

This piece and infographic is from Adam Vincenzini on his blog.

I selected this article because it's another way for you to find key influencers and these tools will help to narrow your search

Here are some highlights:

Instead of focusing on the subjectivity of this process (and how this insight is deployed) Here's how you can use a combination of free tools to narrow your search.

Where do online influencers operate?

**They are active everywhere:

     Most popular are:

     blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Online

     communities, discussion boards

Assumptions:

**Influencers are active on Twitter

**Influencers operate some for of blogging hub

Focus on the intelligence you can glean from Twitter initially then verify this initial sweep with blog (or relevant hub) data

The initial steps involve:

1. Search by keyword

2. Search by location

3 tools useful in the process: The first two you can also search by location:

**followerwonk.com - then run this through another influencer tool -

tweetlevel to give it even more relevance (this isn't fool proof)

**locafollow.com

**twingulate.com

There are more suggestions in this piece having said that:

**No matter how hard we try, a 100% fool proof influence rating is near on impossible because influence is not a science, it can't be.

** this can help narrow things down, significantly
