That’s been the easy route taken by news organizations for several years as they dip their toes into mobile. But journalistic organizations are starting to focus on their mobile products as distinctive entities and to use devices’ capabilities to shape more innovative offerings. News apps that sprung up this year included features like Pandora-style information streams, curated reels of news read out loud to users, video portals and, overall, more user customization than ever before.

Some of the better applications came from startups, others from established news organizations. Some were niche in subject matter, others global in scope or sources for quick-hit highlights of general-interest news for consumers everywhere. Here are seven apps that stood out:

Of course SEO is still worth it in 2015. If you have been having difficulty in determining what to spend, the calculations above may prove useful in developing a budget. Don’t take the "Cheap SEO" bait. There is no point in paying a "Bargain SEO Firm" to do work that is, more often than not, against Google guidelines and almost certain to trigger a Panda or Penguin hit.

With #HappytoHelp as their tagline, KLM boasts a lightning fast response time of just 32 minutes, and a clock on their Facebook page updates every five minutes to let consumers know how quickly their needs will be addressed. This strategy is effective because customers are in the know about where they stand in line and recognize the dedication to service right off the bat.

What did I know? I sorta thought that all my twitter followers mattered, right? I mean, they all have mothers and kindergarten teachers and a lot of them have dogs, too.

 

Granted, I don't know which of them have dogs. But what with Google, and FB, and the NSA and all, it can't be all that hard to find out which do, Am I wrong?
