Watergate scandal - Wikipedia

Watergate scandal - Wikipedia

The Watergate scandal was a major political scandal that occurred in the United States in the 1970s, following a break-in at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C. on June 17, 1972, and President Richard Nixon's administration's attempted cover-up of its involvement.

Ngozi Angeline Godwell's insight:
The Watergate scandal was a major political scandal that occurred in the United States in the 1970s, following a break-in at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C. on June 17, 1972, and President Richard Nixon’s administration’s attempted cover-up of its involvement. When the conspiracy was discovered and investigated by the U.S. Congress, the Nixon administration’s resistance to its probes led to a constitutional crisis.

After a series of court battles, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the president was obliged to release the tapes to government investigators. The tapes revealed that Nixon had attempted to cover up activities that took place after the break-in, and to use federal officials to deflect the investigation.[5][8] Facing virtually certain impeachment in the House of Representatives and equally certain conviction by the Senate, Nixon resigned the presidency on August 9, 1974, preventing the House from impeaching him. On September 8, 1974, his successor, Gerald Ford, pardoned him.

Northampton - Wikipedia

Northampton - Wikipedia

The earliest reference to Northampton in writing occurred in 914 under the name Ham tune, literally meaning "home town". The prefix "North" was added later to distinguish it from other towns called Hampton, most prominently Southampton. The Domesday Book (1086) records the town as Northantone, which evolved into Norhamptone by the 13th century and later Northampton by the 17th century.

Northampton /nɔːrθˈæmptən/ is the county town of Northamptonshire in the East Midlands of England. It lies on the River Nene, about 67 miles (108 km) north-west of London and 50 miles (80 km) south-east of Birmingham. One of the largest towns in the UK, Northampton had a population of 212,100 in the 2011 census.
Ngozi Angeline Godwell's insight:
Archaeological evidence of settlement in the area dates back to the Bronze Age, Roman and Anglo-Saxon periods. During the Middle Ages, the town rose to national significance with the establishment of Northampton Castle, which was an occasional royal residence and regularly hosted the Parliament of England. Medieval Northampton had many churches, monasteries and the University of Northampton, which were all enclosed by the town walls. It was granted its first town charter by King Richard I in 1189 and its first mayor was appointed by King John in 1215. The town is also the site of two medieval battles; the Battle of Northampton (1264) and the second in 1460.

April 1, 2015 The history of the Khazarians, specifically the Khazarian Mafia (KM), the World’s largest Organized Crime Syndicate that the Khazarian oligarchy morphed into by their deployment of ...

Ngozi Angeline Godwell's insight:
The present day KM knows that it cannot operate or exist without abject secrecy, and therefore has spent a lot of money having its history excised from the history books in order to prevent citizens of the World from learning about its “Evil beyond imagination”, that empowers this World’s largest Organized Crime Cabal. The authors of this article have done their best to resurrect this lost, secret history of the Khazarians and their large International Organized Crime Syndicate, best referred to as the Khazarian Mafia (KM) and make this history available to the World via the Internet, which is the new Gutenberg Press.

How a telephone call set off a cascade of FBI investigations, secret plea deals and lawsuits from Palm Beach, Florida, to Buckingham Palace as questions resurface over whether the disgraced financier used his wealth and power to elude justice...

Ngozi Angeline Godwell's insight:

The desperate woman who telephoned Detective Michele Pagan of the Palm Beach police declined to give her name and would not leave a call-back number. But she had some information that she had to tell someone.

Her stepdaughter, a 14-year-old pupil at Royal Palm Beach high school, had told a friend that she’d had sex with a middle-aged man who gave her money.

The man was said to have a long face and bushy eyebrows and he lived in a big house at the end of a dead-end street. His name was Jeff.

A teacher found $300 in the 14-year-old’s purse. That call to police – made 10 years ago this March – soon led Florida detectives to 358 El Brillo Way, a mansion owned by Jeffrey Epstein, one of America’s wealthiest hedge fund tycoons.

Timbuktu - Wikipedia

Timbuktu - Wikipedia

Timbuktu (pron.: ), also spelled as Tinbuktu, Timbuctoo and Timbuktoo ( Berber: ⵜⵉⵏⴱⵓⴽⵜⵓ; French: Tombouctou; Koyra Chiini: Tumbutu), is a historical and still-inhabited city in Mali, situated 20 km (12 mi) north of the River Niger. The town is the capital of the Timbuktu Region, one of the eight administrative regions of Mali.

Empty description
Ngozi Angeline Godwell's insight:
In its Golden Age, the town's numerous Islamic scholars and extensive trading network made possible an important book trade: together with the campuses of the Sankore Madrasah, an Islamic university, this established Timbuktu as a scholarly centre in Africa. Several notable historic writers, such as Shabeni and Leo Africanus, have described Timbuktu. These stories fueled speculation in Europe, where the city's reputation shifted from being extremely rich to being mysterious. This reputation overshadows the town itself in modern times, to the point where it is best known in Western culture as an expression for a distant or outlandish place.

LDF Applauds Supreme Court Decision Striking Down Mandatory Life Without Parole Sentences for Children | NAACP LDF

6/25/12
Related Case or Issue:
Juvenile Life Without Parole
(New York, NY) Today, the United States Supreme Court banned the imposition of mandatory life without parole sentences for children who were 17 or younger at the time of their crimes
Ngozi Angeline Godwell's insight:
. In Miller v. Alabama, the Court declared that any life without parole sentence that is imposed on a child without consideration of unique personal characteristics such as age and life history is unconstitutionally cruel and unusual. With this decision, the Court invalidated laws in 29 states and nullified the life without parole sentences of hundreds of young people across the country.

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF), along with the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice, LatinoJustice/PRLDEF, Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund and the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights filed a friend of the court brief challenging the constitutionality of such juvenile life without parole sentences. LDF’s brief highlighted how pernicious stereotypes connecting race, criminality and youth propelled the creation of a sentencing regime that disregarded the relevance of youth and subjected children to unfair and severe sentences in violation of the Eighth Amendment.
