Some people are deeply religious and others not at all. Evolutionary psychologists are interested in determining the functions of religiosity in social life that lead to this diversity.
DrMarranci's insight:

Can we have more epistemological mistakes in this research?. They have clearly confuse  a map for a territory. Religion is a label and encompasses very complex processes that you cannot just assume through a database. All those people of the database have their "map" of religion, a map that it does not even equal the territory of their experience. Sensationalism must leave the social sciences.
