Twelve Month Impact of the Just Walk It Program on Physical Activity Levels

The Just Walk It program was successful in engaging men, middle-aged participants and those who are inactive and insufficiently active in regular physical activity. This suggests community based walking groups may be an effective and cost- efficient means of increasing walking and total PA levels. This is important given research evidence indicating the largest population health gain is for sedentary people in the community to become moderately active.
