Oak Brook, IL — After seeing a decline in earnings for the first time in nine years and battling workers who are demanding $15/hr, McDonald's plans to do something no other restaurant of its kind has ever done before; open thousands of stores run entirely by robots.
Ron McIntyre's insight:

This is an example of why we have such a fear of robots.  This article was supposedly written a year ago. In it they claim that McDonald's will have 25,000 converted stores by 2016. First of all, as of the end of 2015, there were only 14, 248 stores in the US. Secondly, I have not seen any press on whether this one in Arizona ever got off the ground. This type of journalism is why we have robot phobia.
