Very good insights from Jacob on taking responsibility for our own personal development. I cannot agree more. A good alternative would be a coach to be an objective mentor and facilitator.  Well worth the investment just to get started. For example, I tell clients I don't want to be your coach for life, only to get you firmly planted on a straight path.
