While I wish I could say that many board of directors are responding well, I believe the opposite is happening.  They are really becoming less visible publicly and more dominant in the background. Some more militant shareholder groups are bragging about how they are going to put their own CEO is place so they can control the activity better.  This is a tough issue that needs attention for sure.

Interesting POV. What are your thoughts? I do agree with the idea that using agile processes will provide a better platform for growing innovation. It allows you to fail early and pick yourself up and try again more quickly. Trials are many times the stimulator of innovation but you must be open to trying and failing for it to be effective.

I really like Gordon's article.  He is absolutely on the mark. The old sink or swim mentality breeds anger, frustration and very low emotional intelligence in my opinion. I totally agree that this is short term thinking and so 20th century.  The Next gen will come from the millennial's and they have a completely different point of view. It will start with generational respect. This will be the key to growing this next batch of leaders.
