Developing Charisma - Increasing Your Influence in the #Workplace #socialmedia

Developing Charisma - Increasing Your Influence in the #Workplace #socialmedia | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

Have you ever worked with a very charismatic leader?

If so, then it's likely that almost everyone in the organization liked, trusted, and admired this person.
People listened when she talked, colleagues supported her ideas, and talented people wanted to join her team. In short, everyone wanted to be around this person!

Charisma is something that many people believe you're born with. However, this isn't the case – you can become more charismatic, and we'll explore how you can develop charisma in this article

Defining Charisma

Charisma is a collection of traits and behaviors that make you appeal to other people. The word comes from the Greek word "charis," which means "grace" or "gift."

Michel CEZON's curator insight, March 2, 2014 12:28 PM

Charisma is a collection of traits and behaviors that help you appeal to other people. Charismatic people are often successful, and people are naturally drawn to them. They retain the best talent in their teams, and people listen to their ideas.

Because charisma is a collection of behaviors, you can learn it. Work on developing empathy, self-confidence, and assertiveness. Be aware of what your body language is saying, and do your best to give people a genuine smile when you're around them.

Also, make sure that you use your charisma the right way: don't use it to influence someone to do something that is against his or her own best interests.

I believe the best way to build self confidence is by broadening your life experiences. When you work hard to increase your knowledge, skills and experiences, you’ll automatically become a confident person.

Leadership mantra: Action. | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

Action gives real meaning to life!

Without action, what is in some sense also an action…, success remains, in mostly cases, away from us. Useless to complain or blame the rest of the world, we are solely responsible for this situation and from the outcome that results.

Look ahead or around you and be honest with yourself and with others. You will find that the situation is always the result from immobility. It will be difficult to find another reason without using excuses!

Three Management Gurus Explain Management

Three Management Gurus Explain Management | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

A great post. I think a lot of manager should read and applied these advice. Unfortunately we live in a world where the human side is often forget, and the message in in this post is strong to change that situation. [note mg]

Michael Hammer in his book "Agenda" talks about modern managers driven by an economy that is more than ever controlled by the customer. "Managers are rediscovering that business is about execution."

He reminds us of the seriousness of watching the cash flow, fulfilling (rather than just getting) orders and the need to go beyond product ideas and focus more on product development.

The role of managers is to help their company "devise products and services that satisfy customers and then create and deliver them in a profitable way that satisfies shareholders"...

How To Save You From Yourself

How To Save You From Yourself | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

First we make our habits, then our habits make us. Charles C. Noble

It’s not unusual for intelligent people to get themselves stuck in a deep rut in life. By rut, I mean a somewhat extended period of time flooded with low motivation, poor moods, negative thinking patterns, and little or no productivity.

A rut like this can be extremely difficult to get out of. I’ve been there several times, so I know that rediscovering productivity and finding the motivation to delve into anything even remotely challenging can seem nearly impossible. However, we must eventually come to our senses and realize that there’s no point in going through life feeling unmotivated, tired, stressed out, and unhealthy. Misery is, after all, a choice.

Escaping the bounds of a deeply-grooved rut requires nothing more than some willpower, a good plan, and the resolve to take immediate action. Most ruts are caused by a lack of self-care – for example, little to no exercise, sub-par nutrition, zero personal reflection, insufficient sleep, etc.

Content Marketing Boot Camp: Everything You Wanted To Know In One Post

Content Marketing Boot Camp: Everything You Wanted To Know In One Post | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

Wow, an amazing post about Content Marketing. From; "What Is Content Marketing" to "Content Strategy Best Practices By Successful Brands". All what you need to know to start or improve your know-how in this area. A must read post, of sure! [notre Martin Gysler]

An offline marketing expert recently asked me for a crash course in content marketing through social media. She’d built a powerful personal brand over the years and wanted to take her analog educational resources and research and leverage them online.

The answers to her question, “What is this content marketing business, and how do I get started?” are smattered across the web. So, I compiled a “boot camp” style reading list for her, things we’d written, curated, or analyzed, drawing from work by experts like Brian Clark and Dan Zarrella. And, in true content marketing fashion, I figured why not publish that list?

Even if you’re a seasoned veteran, sometimes it’s nice to review the basics. Revisiting content marketing boot camp was a great exercise for me; I hope it is for you, too.

Ten hut!

How Millionaires Approach Social Media

How Millionaires Approach Social Media | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

I’ve interviewed over 50 business owners who have a million-dollar net worth or more. As a blogger and podcaster I am always so curious as to how they use social media in their businesses.

If I were to generalize, most of the millionaires I interview use social media, or at least have someone in their company use it. But they are very clear on what it can and cannot do for them.

Social media is just the newest marketing avenue, just like cold calling, direct mail or networking. Social media helps you find people who might need you, and provides a way to introduce yourself. It also helps others find and recommend you. The easy-to-share aspects of social media make it hard for a business to ignore.

All of these goals that will lead us to success!

Introduction

Beyond the basics of goal that he should be SMART: Simple and Specific | Measurable | Achievable | Realistic | Time limited and which is known to most of us, I would like add the emotional meaning of the subject.

Indeed, the act of setting goals is often linked to an emotional process:

From needs who are deepest in us; an ambition to be this or that; Or an ego, oversized, who plays tricks on us;

and many other factors.

All these elements combined can significantly change the logic of things and lead us sometimes on unsafe paths and strewn with pitfalls.

When should we have a goal?...

This Time cover from a couple of years ago (with the shiny mirrored screen) was prescient, but not quite enough… I’d cross that ‘You’ out and say ‘Us’. Hasn’t it felt that way these last couple of years? How we’ve grown a global collective consciousness?

Despite this cover, YouTube is not usually the first site that comes to mind when thinking about social media. I guess we take it a bit for granted while we wax rhapsodic about Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and Quora. Should I Keep My Personal and Professional Identities Completely Separate Online?

Should I Keep My Personal and Professional Identities Completely Separate Online? | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

One question that seems to me to be very important. What is the best way to do, here are some interesting ideas about it. [note mg]

Dear Lifehacker,
I'm a pretty savvy person when it comes to getting my work on the web where people can see, but all this talk about Facebook passwords and things has me re-thinking my personal/professional boundaries. Should I set up completely separate accounts for my personal life and my professional life, or is that kind of misleading? How can I juggle privacy and openness, especially if I want to make a name for myself and get hired?
Sincerely,
Camera Shy

Dear Camera Shy,
Well, there's no clear yes or no answer here, and what's best for you will really come down to how much you want a potential employer to be able to find out about you. Balance that with exactly how strong your desire for privacy is, and you'll know where you come down on this issue. There are some ramifications to going either way though, and a comfortable compromise in the middle may work best for you—let's dig into that a bit.

Even if faith does not avoid completely doubt, it contributes significantly to the restoration of tranquility, which is more rapid, and largely reduces the frequency of doubts.

Coca Cola Content 2020 Part One

The media landscape is a very different beast today than it was even 5 years ago. Then agency-led television commercials dominated how we channel our marketing. The very fact you are reading this here proves that things have changed. Coca Cola have always been at the forefront of innovation. In this video Jonathan Mildenhall, Vice-President, Global Advertising Strategy and Creative Excellence at The Coca-Cola Company is the person responsible for leading global creative vision and strategy for the Company's portfolio of global brands.

In this video he explains how Coke will leverage the opportunities in the new media landscape and transform one-way storytelling into dynamic storytelling hoping to add value and significance to peoples lives. Jonathan describes the challenge of content creation in an enlightening way, reminding us that "every contact point with a customer should tell an emotional story".

Just because I love everything Coca Cola does!

Grizzel Fonseca's curator insight, May 13, 2014 4:05 AM

I agree with Coca Cola about moving away for creative excellence to content excellence. They have developed their brand and established it well in the world. They are looking at ways to stay on top of other competitors; it is very smart of them to make sure their consumers are happy with the product and how they can connect with audiences. By creating the brand and establishing the brand does not mean long term profit or customer loyalty. It is how the business continues to market the brand that results in customer loyalty and profit. Coca Cola that identify this and made it their focus to create a strong customer loyalty with their audience; making sure the consumer shall never drift away from the brand and company.

For my marketing idea, I created something called the “Hashtag Game.”

Like Naomi Dunford said: “It’s the shit that we do to get people to buy our shit.” There are many things we can do to attract potential readers and customers such as: producing powerful content; word of mouth; Facebook marketing; free eBooks to lure people in; and guest posting.

There are also the little, effortless things that we forget to do that can add up overtime: adding hashtags at the end of our tweets.

For example: If I were tweeting “Engagement From Scratch” . . . and let’s just say I don’t have 50,000 followers but I want to spread the word about it.

TODAY’S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Point of view!

TODAY’S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Point of view! | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

Why should I consider the point of view from the other, if I have reason (…)?

Each situation has always different points of view, what is yours?

Perhaps you are wondering what mean this question! What I mean is; when you face a situation, you see

also the perspective from the other person?

If this is not the case, you should consider doing so quickly because it’s the best way to find a favorable outcome in complicated situations.

It’s also the best process to move forward in life constructively and to attract many sympathies in his entourage. In this idea, I love the quote from George Santayana who says:

“Almost every wise saying has an opposite one, no less wise, to balance it.”

As a leader, we know that the views of other people must be heard and understood in order to make the right decisions for us and our team. Proceeding in this way, everyone can realize the importance and doing so for others as well.

Finding Balance in the Age of Digital Overload

Finding Balance in the Age of Digital Overload | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

When the Author Dean Whitney says: "You need a “system” you can trust" I think it is right. Today we have so many information so that we really need a system [note Martin Gysler]

It's a new year and a great time to talk about goals and balance. If you are like me, your work is always with you. You wake up and check your email on the computer and if you're not near the computer, the iPhone or Blackberry is always within reach. As digital information becomes more accessible so to does our ability to communicate. For every actionable email there seems to be 10 emails with useful information and 100 useless cc's and spam emails. Then there’s the rest of life: mental, spiritual and physical realities. Our real world relationships, our dreams and our health needs to be in balance with all this digital information. Without proper and directed focus, years can go by without making significant progress.

Your life goals don’t ask you for permission to use “push notifications”

S.U.D.S or “Seemingly Unimportant Decisions”. Everyday we need to make hundreds, even thousands of decisions. From what to wear, eat, what time to get up, exercise, which emails to reply to, what to read, and how to spend our time. The problem is that all the really important and beneficial tasks don't bug you if you don’t perform them....

Gamification: Motivation and Engagement

Gamification: Motivation and Engagement | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

What’s Game Good For?

Before we can talk about applying game mechanics to anything, we need to understand what a game actually us. The Oxford English Dictionary defines a game as “a form or spell of play or sport, esp. a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength or luck.”

That’s pretty hard to digest as a something you can say to a decision maker! However, if we break it down further we can start to get at some core ideas that should help. Play and sport are all activities or tasks. Played is not a strong word in the corporate world. It conjures images of nerds playing quake after hours on the corporate network. So instead, how about we use completed.

Rules Can Be Starting Points

Next, rules. We all have rules, but it is not something you hear people talking about in businesses. Instead, we could say parameters or guidelines. All projects have parameters or guidelines...
