TODAY’S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Experience.

TODAY’S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Experience. | Everything you need… | Scoop.it
It’s a phrase I often heard in my life.

Yes, to have experience, it is priceless and we can not buy it either. Sure, you can surround yourself with people who have experience in your field (I encourage you by the way) but it will not replace the experience of life that each of us must to do...

7 Steps to Incredible Personal Productivity

7 Steps to Incredible Personal Productivity | Everything you need… | Scoop.it
Practical advice to turn an average workday into an incredibly productive day.

Occasionally you need to go the extra mile. Sometimes you need to complete a major project, tackle a task you’ve put off, or just knock out a ton of work in one day.

Here’s the best way to turn a normal workday into an incredibly productive workday:

1. Let everyone know. Interruptions destroy focus and kill productivity. So are the guilt trips your family "sometimes unintentionally" lay on you. Let coworkers and family know you’re planning a “project day.” Tell key customers too. Announce you will be tied up on, say, Tuesday, and that you will respond to calls and emails on Thursday. Let people know who to contact in an emergency. Some will get with you before Tuesday, and the rest will make a mental note you’re not available. In either case, you’re covered...

TODAY’S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Confidence.

TODAY’S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Confidence. | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

Sometimes I hear, "you can not have everything". What does this sentence?

We can have everything we want if we really want, yes, this seems very simple!

We must learn to want more – it is not necessarily about money (it is not excluded, of course), this may be, health, happiness, love, etc. – because that is how the most can get into life...

TODAY'S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Giving.

TODAY'S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Giving. | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

We live in a world where it's mostly "every man for him." Everyone is busy to advancing his life, while forgetting the world that is around him! Yes, if I'm honest, I must admit that I also regularly falls in this plan.

Why? It is precisely the question I ask myself at the moment. I know it's the wrong way to do so...!

I work hard for that to happen less and less, because I know that Zig Ziglar is right when he says: "You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want".

As a leader we must think globally, it is the only way to become a leader who can change the face of the world and support a team to become in turn an example for those around him.

We can do much more than what we think, because all the power within us, just use it!

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Mother of All Excuses – I CAN’T

The Mother of All Excuses – I CAN’T | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

Making excuses is a bad habit that anyone can slip into. I’ve done it, you’ve done it, and now it’s time to get passed it. Sometimes we make excuses because we are trying to be polite, or at least that’s what we tell ourselves. Maybe somebody invites us to do something that we really don’t want to do. So, we politely say, “I would really like to, but I just can’t today.”

Why do we do that? Why not just say, “No thanks”?

The funny thing about making excuses is that we can always come up with excuses for why we do it. That’s pathetic when you think about it. If we want other people to be honest with us, shouldn’t we start by respecting others enough to be honest with them?..

The Great Twitter Automation Debate

The Great Twitter Automation Debate | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

More Than One Way To Communicate

Of course, communication can take many forms. For example, you can reply to emails when you have time, rather than chain yourself to a device to reply to every one when it arrives.

In that vein, Gray compares Stratten’s insistence about using Twitter primarily for real-time communication to be “like saying all conversations should be on the phone.” He further points out that email or letters (what he calls asynchronous communication) are valid forms of communication.

"Peace One Day" at Work

"Peace One Day" at Work | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

In a recent TED talk, activist Jeremy Gilley discusses his inspiring mission of “Persuading the world to try living in peace for just one day.” Adhering to a single day of peace allows for the immunization of rural populations, aid to be distributed, freedom to travel and the transmission of information. Most importantly, it relieves a person of the stress and anxiety that comes with continuous violence and hate.

This mission should inspire people to dedicate themselves to peace on a global, local and emotional level. Perhaps, people can take the initiative and create a Peace Day in the workplace. Peace Day gives people a reprieve from a negative work environment. This is an opportunity for people to become mindful of their relationship with co-workers....

50 Steps to Establishing a Consistent Social Media Practice

50 Steps to Establishing a Consistent Social Media Practice | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

You’ve told the boss that you’re going to implement social media stuff for your organization, and in your mind, you’ve decided that means an account on Twitter and a blog. Maybe there’s a bit more to it than that. For instance, what are your goals? Are you there to show customers and prospective new customers that you care? Are you there to solve customer issues? Are you building awareness and attempting new forms of digital marketing? Knowing this up front makes a world of difference.

In the mean time, here are some things you might consider for when it comes time to implement. They range from ideas for starting out, things to augment your efforts with, writing ideas, next steps, and metrics...

The New, New Twitter and What It Means to You and Your Business

The New, New Twitter and What It Means to You and Your Business | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

The new, new Twitter is upon us and while some of you already have access to it, others will have to wait up to three weeks. I’m not one to write about new features or products as they’re released. But I would like to take some time to review why this version of Twitter is important to you and your business.

Twitter has undergone nothing short of a complete redesign…again. The new experience offers a much needed simplification. After all, almost six years following its debut, one of the most common searches for “how do you use…” on Google, is still…Twitter. With over 200 million Tweets soaring across Twitter everyday, the service is now aspiring to become something your father or mother or even your “sister” can easily understand and use...

Stop Asking for Permission

Stop Asking for Permission | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

I visited New York City with my mom and younger sister recently. We were walking near Battery Park when we saw a man wearing a clown wig and playing a ukulele- making up songs as people walked by.

It was this man, Freddy Harrington.

To onlookers he was a street musician, a comedian entertaining passers by. But he spoke of things much deeper.

In this video interview, you learn that he is not merely a street musician trying to make a couple bucks to survive, but a high school science teacher with a much deeper message. His message?...

7 Reasons Why a Lifestyle Business is Better

7 Reasons Why a Lifestyle Business is Better | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

I can live anywhere because of my business, although I choose to live in the Alaska of Europe right now, which is weird.

I haven’t figured this one out yet.

But I think it has something to do with me becoming a father next month, and being close to family is always nice.

Ever since I was 18, I’ve always had my goals set on being able to do anything, from anywhere, and at any time.

I began playing poker right out of school at 18. I could take my work anywhere, as long as I had an internet connection and a computer.

12 Most Intriguing Success, Business, and Life Strategies I’ve Learned From Dogs

12 Most Intriguing Success, Business, and Life Strategies I’ve Learned From Dogs | Everything you need… | Scoop.it

“The dog has seldom been successful in pulling man up to its level of sagacity, but man has frequently dragged a dog down to his.” – James Thurber

Whether it began 15,000 years ago when dogs scavenged for refuse at campsites of Paleolithic man, at some point in this long relationship with humans, dogs decided that being near us was an advantage.

Clearly, most of us felt the same way.

What is rather amusing, though, is that we spend a great deal of time and money training our dogs when I suspect we could learn far more from our dogs than they could ever learn from us.
