Leadership Qualities Of Women Seen As Equal To Men, Survey Says; Women ... - Medical Daily | Everyday Leadership | Scoop.it
Thanks to a boost in numbers from Millennials, the majority of Americans find women indistinguishable from men on key leadership traits.
Joe Boutte's insight:

For those that think that women have to catch up with men on leadership, think back to the ladies that raised you, taught you, nurtured you, and coached you.  I think we may find that men are catching up with women.  The real issue is not male or female leadership, but the ability to influence others to get things done.  We're all capable when we work hard, build relationships, and develop solutions.  It takes all kinds of leadership in today's organizations, families, governments, and situations.

In every organization I'm a part of women are leading at the highest levels.  I don't see any glass ceilings anymore.  This includes government, non-profits, church, and community.  In my experience, the most qualified people have risen to the top and have key positions throughout the organizations.  Meritocracy seems to reign and that's good for everyone.

Leadership isn't nearly as complex as people make it out to be, but that doesn't mean it isn't hard.
Joe Boutte's insight:

"My belief (and my experience) shows leadership not linked to service is nothing short of a farce. In fact, it is understanding the link between service and leadership that underpins sustainability and creates a true culture of leadership. I was recently asked the following question: If servant leadership is so powerful, why isn’t its use and application more prevalent?"

We don't need politicians—we need leaders - The Hill (blog) | Everyday Leadership | Scoop.it
It’s no secret that we have lost faith in our elected officials, both Democrat and Republican.
Joe Boutte's insight:

"We need leaders who understand that governing means uniting and building coalitions, not dividing and conquering. We don’t need more partisanship or divisiveness.  We need leaders with a broad set of work experiences and strong management skills—leaders who will use discretion and good judgment.  In other words, we need elected officials that do not represent the status quo."

Who Needs Rebels at Work?

donhornsby's curator insight, January 14, 2:51 PM

Rehabilitating your Troublemakers. Corporate leaders may worry that Rebels at Work will create gangs of rebellious employees (cue Les Miserables). But the reality is rebels are already inside your corporate gates and increasingly unhappy. Many of them have the potential to become positive forces for your organization — to become good rebels. For that to happen, however, employees need different skills and managers need more effective ways of managing individuals who think differently.

Ivon Prefontaine's curator insight, January 14, 8:08 PM

But rebelling is not just about rebelling. It is about changing the way things are done and the paradigm within which it is done. Retaining neo-colonial and patriarchal ways does not change anything.
