Before we even launched our public version, we recognized that a lot of content curators were also occasional or regular bloggers and started to offer ways to integrate with Wordpress - the leading blogging platform. Since then, we've seen a lot of our users leverage this integration as well as more and more of our Enterprise clients wanting to combine content curation through Scoop.it and the CMS capabilities of Wordpress for their sites. So we've multiplied the ways you could integrate with a Wordpress site or blog and here's a recap of how to make this work.

Our friends at Rode microphones have just launched the invisiLav – a gadget designed to conceal the company’s lavalier and smartLav microphones under clothing. It is a soft sleeve that holds the mic capsule and absorbs noise and vibration. Two mics can be mounted in the same invisiLav which is useful in some instances where you need a redundant backup – but it will work just fine with only one. The invisiLav can be mounted with pre-cut double sided adhesive pads to the either clothing or skin. I love that the video mentions that you can also mount it with toupee tape.

A client that is doing some incredible work on the publishing side and seeing exceptional results asked what my opinion was on them hosting their videos internally. They felt they could better control the quality of the videos and improve their search optimization. The short answer was no. It’s not because I don’t believe they would be great at it, it’s because they are underestimating all of the incredible challenges of hosted video that have already been solved elsewhere. YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia,Brightcove, and a variety of Digital Asset Management companies have already worked through several of the challenges of hosted video:

With daily media reports about record CO2 emissions, record ice melts, record droughts, record rainfalls, record food prices, it is no wonder that people get frustrated and concerned about climate change. When the Commission polled 27,000 Europeans last year, people across the continent responded that they were more worried about the climate challenge than they were before the big climate summit in Copenhagen in 2009. No surprise, in fact. Of course most people realise that the climate problem wasn't kind enough to disappear, just because we got busy handling the economic crisis. And yet – despite the growing awareness – too many people in too many countries do too little themselves to take action. Many don't even do the things that would save them time and money. In part it has to do with barriers and lack of incentives. But I believe it also has to do with the fact that fear can only motivate us to a certain point. Human beings need something to strive for and work towards. We need to know very concretely what we can do. And we need to know that it matters. Let me stress: it DOES matter. It means the world, actually. By 2020, we could reduce CO2 pollution by an amount that corresponds to the combined annual emissions of Ireland, France, Finland, Belgium and Portugal if all Europeans changed habits in areas such as eating, shopping, transport, heating and the like. That is why the European Commission has just launched a new pan-European climate-awareness initiative. Along with Ed Davey, the UK minister for Climate and Energy, Academy Award-winner Colin Firth and leading representatives from businesses and civil society from across Europe I kicked off 'A world you like. With a climate you like.' at the London City Hall last week.Click headline to read more--
