But the article didn't explain the key factors one by one and also didn't give specific examples so there are lack of depth.

The article above was really good in explaining the key to obtaining an integrated marketing strategy as a business. It places importance on businesses being customer oriented, as well as constant monitoring of the plan being used by the firm. The article also explains that it is important for the marketing strategy to have interactive components, i.e. websites, social media and email marketing.

The article gives makes me think of importance of relations between marketing and mobile. Consumer communication is an essential part for IMC and nowadays smart phone became popular. In the 21 century mobile is no longer focus on technology but on marketing things about communication, shopping and information. Researching and comparing between products and services became much easier by progress of technology. So businesses should have individual products and services with good quality and prices for build stronger ties with consumers.
Lauren Southgate's comment, August 22, 2013 1:23 AM
Technology is such a key factor in today's society and it is no wonder businesses are constantly needing to adapt to keep up. Consumer behaviour is quite centralised around technology in that we now rely on our mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc. for almost everything. Firms are now shifting to mobile marketing in order to stay competitive in the market. This article clearly highlights the idea that with the changing world, businesses need to adapt in order to maintain consumer communication.

A strong brand, or a strong strategy, which is more important?

A strong brand, or a strong strategy, which is more important? | Event Management | Scoop.it
One of the members of the SME Strategy Facebook community asked the other day: "When you have a brand name with poor strategy or a strong strategy with out a brand name......... which will lead to success ?
James Kim's insight:

There are some good points in this article but i would like to point out that, it does not matter which is more important then the other because in every work industry needs to have a strong connection to help each others weakness. But if i had to choose which one is important out of brand and strategy, i would choose strategy because without any strategy in work industry the connection between the workers won't match and won't be able to move on to the next step

This article is interesting. it gives question 'which one is more important between brand and strategy' to readers. Author said he would choose strategy because to have a successful business, strong strategy is essential. I agree with the opinion. If the business has well designed strategy, it will be able to make their brand famous, have a good reputation and will be able to long run their business.
Lauren Southgate's comment, August 21, 2013 10:47 PM
This article was really informative in terms of stating that the ultimate concern for a business should be developing a strong strategy before developing a strong brand. The article then went on to further explain that business success does not come with just one well executed component, but rather with a multi-channel strategy that is highly executed. Ultimately, a successful brand comes once a successful business is established.

Brands that succeed draw the consumer with a compelling narrative: Gatorade's replay series was a first-class example
James Kim's insight:

This article mentioned and covered the important parts to IMC consumer engagement and it is aimed with the business or to the product. Meaning storytelling as it was mentioned in the article it is better to engage consumers with the products while recalling the consumer from personal experience therefore this would help the business become successful in important factor for any business

Totally agree with this article and i think it is very interesting. The article tells us that storytelling is a good method as a consumer engagement. The scenario of the Gatorade is a very good example. The brand use storytelling efficiently and their promotion ended up very successfully. Overall, sales in the match region increased by 63% and the campaign generated $3m-worth of media coverage. Storytelling encourage the emotional connection with consumers because everyone has their story so people can easily agree with it and be impressed with it. So to achieve true engagement, the business have to warp their products in a story what makes consumers to accept the story as their story.
Lauren Southgate's comment, August 21, 2013 4:55 PM
Consumer engagement is all about having consumers connect with each other and the brand or company. This article presents a really good example of how storytelling has the ability to connect consumers, and engage them in an experience they can participate and contribute to. It is a really good tactic that centers around the consumers themselves, as well as promoting a brand or company.

This article gave all the answers that are required for establishing objectives and budgeting for the promotional program because as the author of this article mentioned that objective communication plays a important part of the role and views the true ideas in sharing with groups and business companies. Although, author of this article gave the answers but it is also highly to think about how you are going to advertise in a positive way that does not affect others.

Lauren Southgate's comment, August 22, 2013 1:40 AM
This article was useful in defining objectives and why they are important. Of course, businesses need to put in place objectives so that they know what they are working towards achieving as a company. The article highlighted that firm's need to establish a number of different objectives i.e. budgeting, creative, sales, etc. which can be used in future decision-making. Objectives are important in IMC to determine the success of a firm's strategies.
