Current law supports eugenic abortion for disabled people – our letter in today’s Daily Telegraph

Current law supports eugenic abortion for disabled people – our letter in today’s Daily Telegraph | Eugenics | Scoop.it

I am one of nine joint signatories to a letter in the Daily Telegraph today arguing that the success of the Paralympics should trigger a rethink of Britain’s abortion laws to make it illegal to terminate a pregnancy solely on grounds that a child will be born disabled.

We describe the practice of aborting foetuses on physical grounds as a form of ‘eugenics’ and say that while pregnancies can be terminated even up to 40 weeks on physical grounds in certain circumstances, the moment the child is born a ‘moral volte-face’ is performed and the official approach is ‘full of compassion’.

LEFEMINE v. WIDEMAN | Supreme Court | LII / Legal Information Institute | Eugenics | Scoop.it

Petitioner Steven Lefemine and members of Columbia Christians for Life (CCL) engage in demonstrations in which they carry pictures of aborted fetuses to protest the availability of abortions. On November 3, 2005, Lefemine and about 20 other CCL members conducted such a demonstration at a busy intersection in Greenwood County, South Carolina. Citing complaints about the graphic signs, a Greenwood County police officer informed Lefemine that if the signs were not discarded, he would be ticketed for breach of the peace. Lefemine objected, asserting that the officer was violating his First Amendment rights, but the threat eventually caused him to disband the protest. See Lefemine v. Davis, 732 F. Supp. 2d 614, 617–619 (SC 2010).

Is there such a thing as 'male genocide'?

By Ngozi Godwell

It appears there is such a thing as 'male genocide'. Who would want to kill off the male population?

This is a complex subject, but the system used is not. To begin investigating 'male genocide' the best place to start is with documented historical fact. 'Male genocide' is a global issue and is not privy one country or race.

During and after World War I and was implemented in two phases: the wholesale killing of the able-bodied male population through massacre and forced labor, and the deportation on death marches to the Syrian Desert of women, children, the elderly and infirm. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide

For now, my focus is on phase one which; is the wholesale killing of able-bodied male population through massacre and forced labour.

Case Study (1)  Genocide in Rwanda, 1994

The genocide in the tiny Central African country of Rwanda was one of the most intensive killing campaigns -- possibly the most intensive -- in human history. http://www.scoop.it/t/eugenics/p/2530926240/case-study-genocide-in-rwanda-1994  ;

Ngozi I am wonderring what has raised this concept as an issue with you? It is probably not something that I believe would come about consciously but there are many factors that collectively could have potential to bring about such an end. However to sustain the human species we might find that sperm banks do not provide a long term solution and so an entirely female population would only exist a short while before either rekindling the male factor of the human race or dying out altogether.
Also genders are not just straight forward male and female now if ever. In fact to be andronogeous has probably been more prolific than ever known. The 'wholesale killing of able bodied male population' is not a form of genocide specific to only half our species. Men and women have more values in common that we are led to think.

Hi Kate, what has sperm bank go to do with this particular topic, may I ask?

'The wholesale killing of able-bodied male population through massacre and forced labour. introduction got to do with the subject matter'

This is what this piece is about.
You need to make yourself clear Kate. Are you stating that I cannot have a keen interest in science, technology and society?
Patch Self-help's comment, August 31, 2012 1:47 PM
Hi Waine You ask what has sperm bank go to do with this particular topic? It is relevant if those who seem to be attempting to kill off males wish to retain procreation of the human race at all. Perhaps these killings are a conscious effort to eradicate males. Thats what male genocide would be if done intentionally. Changes in human development ocure naturally too and indications are that gender is not limited to just male and female, there options are multiple. This is not a new phenomenon but one which might offer hope. No killing.

Am I stating that I cannot have a keen interest in science, technology and society? No.

"Hispanic women are at greater risk than any other group of having ....babies with neural tube defects....." | Eugenics | Scoop.it

Hispanic women are at greater risk than any other group of having miscarriages or babies with neural tube defects resulting from the inability to absorb folic acid, a supplement highly recommended during pregnancy for the better development of the baby.

A condition known as MTHFR — Methylene-tetra-hydro-folate-reductase — Polymorphism restricts a woman’s ability to convert folic acid into a form of folate that can be used by the body.

“It is a genetic defect that seems to be prevalent in about 70 percent of Hispanic women,” said Michael J. Gonzalez, professor of medical sciences at the University of Puerto Rico.

The Corporate Court's War on Women - The Corporate Court's War on Women So far not so good. By  Martha Burk When President George W. Bush nominated John Roberts and Samuel... | Eugenics | Scoop.it

History has proven that our fears of a Roberts Court were well founded. In 2007, it overruled six lower federal courts by upholding a ban on one abortion procedure with no exception for a woman's health. The same year, in Ledbetter v. Goodyear, the Court overturned 40 years of precedent when it severely curtailed a woman's right to sue for sex discrimination in pay. And in 2011 it piled on the punishment with Walmart v. Dukes, cutting the heart out of women's ability to sue as a class when they're unfairly denied pay and promotion.

So far, not so good. The one semi-bright spot for women was the decision upholding the Affordable Care Act, when Chief Justice Roberts surprised the world and wrote the majority opinion. That decision puts an end to some insurance company abuses like gender rating — charging women more than men for the same coverage — and counting pregnancy and domestic violence as preexisting conditions. But those victories were incidental since the health care decision wasn't about tackling sex discrimination head on, nor pitting a giant corporation against its female workers.

Eugenics Still Alive and Well in 2012 | Sovereign Independent UK

Eugenics Still Alive and Well in 2012 | Sovereign Independent UK | Eugenics | Scoop.it

By Michael J. Norton

Wouldn’t it be great if politicians and other public figures actually told us what they believe rather than talking out of both sides of their mouths?

For example, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg actually did say what she believes about life-ending abortions in July 2009.  Justice Ginsburg said:

Frankly I had thought that, at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.

What the good justice is talking about is called “eugenics.”  Eugenics is not a happy thought — it is a movement of extremists who claim that humankind can be improved through selective breeding and sterilization.  It is what Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany practiced in the extermination of millions of Jews as they sought to create the “perfect human being.”

NZ food bill to make growing food a government privilege rather than a human right

NZ food bill to make growing food a government privilege rather than a human right | Eugenics | Scoop.it

(NaturalNews) The God-given human right to freely cultivate food is under attack in New Zealand (NZ) as special interest groups and others are currently attempting to push a "food security" bill through the nation's parliament that will strip individuals of their right to grow food, save seeds, and even share the fruits of their labor with friends and family members.

In accordance with the World Trade Organization's (WTO) Codex Alimentarius scheme for global food control, the NZ Food Bill, if passed, will essentially transfer primary control of food from individuals to corporations under the guise of food safety. And unless massive public outcry and awakened consciences within the NZ government are able to put a stop to it, the bill could become law very soon.

Eugenics - Massacres

Massacres

Mass burnings
Eitan Belkind was a Nili member, who infiltrated the Ottoman army as an official. He was assigned to the headquarters of Kamal Pasha. He claims to have witnessed the burning of 5,000 Armenians:181,183

Lt. Hasan Maruf, of the Ottoman army, describes how a population of a village were taken all together, and then burned. The Commander of the Third Army Vehib's 12-page affidavit, which was dated 5 December 1918, was presented in the Trabzon trial series (March 29, 1919) included in the Key Indictment,[46] reporting such a mass burning of the population of an entire village near Mush that in Bitlis, Mus and Sassoun, "The shortest method for disposing of the women and children concentrated in the various camps was to burn them." And also that "Turkish prisoners who had apparently witnessed some of these scenes were horrified and maddened at remembering the sight. They told the Russians that the stench of the burning human flesh permeated the air for many days after."

Nigerian men: an endangered species | Daily Times Nigeria

After several failed attempts to locate the female GSM recharge cards vendor whom we normally patronise at Mende Market, we learnt that she had been stabbed by her brother and locked up in her bedroom in a pool of her own blood to die a slow and painful death. The brother was eventually arrested. The two siblings were the only offspring of their old and widowed mother.

Too much blood is spilled on our lands; one would wonder if we are at war. Armed robbery attacks, kidnapping, assassinations, incidents of violence against women, terrorist attacks, communal clashes, religious clashes, incidents of lynching, police brutality and killings, road accidents, plane crashes, ritual killings, etc all involve shedding blood.

At the rate we are going, Nigerian males may soon be classified as endangered species. Every violent attack in Nigeria cuts short young men in their prime.

Human Rights

Human Rights | Eugenics | Scoop.it

The main intention of the civil law is to protect individuals against one another specifying the rights and duties of individuals.

Human rights are commonly understood as "inalienable fundamental rights to which a person is inherently entitled simply because she or he is a human being."[1] Human rights are thus conceived as universal (applicable everywhere) and egalitarian (the same for everyone). These rights may exist as natural rights or as legal rights, in both national and international law.

FAMILY GROUP (Article 8 ECHR)
Everyone has the right to respect for his private and family life, his home and his correspondence.

There shall be no interference by a public authority with the exercise of this right except such as is in accordance with the law and is necessary in a democratic society in the interests of national security, public safety or the economic well-being of the country, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.
