Social content curation has blown up in the past year, after a late start that began to show traction around 2007-2008. Pinterest continues to experience massive growth, with Wanelo nipping at its heels.

Content curation is not just for businesses. I find it's a wonderful way to store resources for myself, my students and likeminded users. It's a great way to share and add your own insights without having to write a full blog post. I can certainly recommend it for language teachers as a means of creating an accessible repository for already filtered material. It'll save you time and you'll always have extra content at hand for those moments when you need something for five-minute-activites or additional reading for those students that are working ahead in class etc. Try it out for yourself! Our potential clients literally have pain of muscles and joints re. ergonomic assessments. The challenge for us is in allowing clients or potential clients to know we use the science of ergonomics whereby we do not throw expensive solutions at the issue!

Jay Rosen has always been ahead of his time. Before the web become big, it was community journalism. That struck me as silly...but know I realize that it was just a nascent form of Web 2.0 curation. Delete the scoop?
