Facebook set to get ‘a lot more money’ from Priceline

Facebook's travel ads site for businesses could be in line for a big payoff, if it can just iron out a few things to make a key customer happy.
When Priceline.com Inc. Chief Executive Glenn Fogel was asked in the travel services site's post-earnings conference call about Facebook's new retargeting product for travel, Fogel said the company was working with Facebook to improve the product to get more business done.

Selon Sophie Lacour, dans quelques années, lorsqu’il n’ y aura plus de vendeurs dans les magasins, nous serons directement en communication avec l’objet. On pourra parler avec une robe par exemple. Elle connaîtra notre historique d’achat et pourra nous proposer des remises. Certaines technologies déjà existantes permettront l’essor de l’ORM, comme l’eye-tracking ou les nanoparticules.

Booking.com’s Pepijn Rijvers might seem an odd choice for a CMO. He does not come from a traditional marketing background and had never held a marketing role before. He started his career as an entrepreneur in the financial services industry but in October 2008 moved to Booking.com, before taking on the CMO role two years ago. He has also headed up he supply and content team for Booking.com, something he says has allowed him to take a more entrepreneurial, varied approach to leading marketing.

Nous sommes en train de connaitre un changement majeur de civilisation, à la fois d’un point de vue géopolitique (émergence de la Chine comme troisième superpuissance), politique (montée en puissance du populisme) et institutionnel (Brexit). Ce changement peut également être constaté dans nos habitudes de consommation, de divertissement, d’éducation, de travail… Des petits changements au quotidien qui sont quasiment tous liés au numérique. Au final, un changement majeur stimulé par les smartphones qui ont joué et jouent un rôle majeur dans l’élaboration d’un nouveau modèle de consommation où les citoyens / consommateurs ont accès en permanence à une infinité de contenus et services en ligne.

TV viewers have an abundance of devices at their disposal to watch content whenever and however they want. But in the US, the big screen is still their preferred access point.

That conclusion was underscored by data from market research firm Hub Research. It surveyed 2,026 US TV viewers ages 16 to 74 who had broadband access at home and watched at least 5 hours of TV per week.
