Wingit est une application lancée en 2014, disponible dans Google Play Store et dans l’Appstore, qui donne accès à des animations et événements proches du lieu où l’on se trouve.

Ces « events », selon le mot choisi par les animateurs de l’appli, sont puisés dans les réseaux sociaux, Facebook et Twitter principalement. L’appli Wingit (voir le pitch vidéo) scanne les contenus et les fournit aux utilisateurs en faisant le pari de l’improvisation dans la découverte des vernissages, expositions, concerts, soirées, happy hours… Elle est utilisable dans 40 villes de 8 pays.

Removing friction at the airport using mobile and blockchain - Tnooz

SITA Lab has begun researching how blockchain might be used to improve how passengers are identified at various points in the journey.
The air industry technology specialist is working on a concept that sees passengers creating a ‘token’ on their mobile phone which stores biometric and other personal information.
The idea is that travellers scan their face and device as a means to verify their identity wherever they go.

Lt. Prof. Peter Zellmann (IFT Institut für Freizeit- und Tourismusforschung) wird das Internet auch für Urlaubsreisen immer mehr zur Informationsquelle Nummer 1. Das gilt vor allem für die Erstinformation, den Einstieg. Beratungen durch Freunde, das Reisebüro etc. folgen dann nach, wenn man es genauer wissen oder auf Nummer sicher gehen will. Die Informationskanäle schließen einander daher nicht aus, sondern ergänzen einander. 

Reiseinformationen werden vor allem über das Internet oder durch Berichte von Freunden, Verwandten oder Bekannten eingeholt, wenn das Reiseziel nicht bereits aus eigener Erfahrung bekannt ist.
An Stellenwert verlieren dagegen die eigene Erfahrung an Urlaubsorten sowie Auskünfte von Reisebüros bzw. Fremdenverkehrsstellen.
Das Internet wird vor allem von jüngeren Reisenden, Personen mit höherer Bildung und höherem Einkommen als Informationsquelle genutzt.

Travellers will be able to interact with the bot to ask for live flight prices, as well as to ask Skyscanner for destination inspiration.

The bot, which is available to any Facebook Messenger user typing in English, has been designed to respond to travel queries in “a natural conversational manner”.

he European Commission published today several important documents in relation to Online Platforms, the role of which is getting more and more significant and dominant in travel trade. The European Hospitality industry welcomes the critical voices of the European Commission on the operation of Online Platforms and is expecting the right conclusions by the European institutions after the announced further investigations into the business-to-business practices by platforms. HOTREC specifically welcomes the announced Key Principles for Comparison Tools, which as well address some issues disrupting consumers in taking well-informed decisions and damage businesses, e.g. by hiding advertisements in the form of paid for rankings.
