Sabrina Ortiz's curator insight, March 5, 9:18 PM
This scoop it was on people and how we are affecting our peers by checking social media during the night. Women are more likely to check social media at night verses men. People who check social media at night are three time more likely to be more tired than people who don’t log on at night. Research was done on pupils at Cardiff University on 900 pupils on people ages 12 to 15 years old. It affects one’s happiness and wellbeing. Older kids were reported more likely to log onto social media at night verses kids who were younger. People who reported staying up were on average significantly less happy than the other people who did not log in at night. It affects your whole body because your internal clock is thrown off. The light from the phone could be mistaken by your brain as sunlight or day time light and makes it harder to go back to sleep because your brain thinks its day time.
