What to do when your kid starts swearing

Teenage Sons's comment, December 2, 4:14 PM
This is a great article because it offers unique suggestions to parent your child if they swear. One suggestion which is great is when the author says, "allow your child to use the swear word within limits." It makes sense and believe it or not your child will find out the words which are offensive.
The article then goes on to talk about how sometimes your child might not understand the meaning of the swear words and can be asked if they know what it means or if they know it hurts people’s feelings.
The last thought sums it up well: “If your kid has developed a nasty potty mouth, you might be wise to try to identify the source of the bad language and limit it.”

Drowning: 'Hidden childhood killer'

Drowning: 'Hidden childhood killer' | eParenting and Parenting in the 21st Century | Scoop.it

Drowning is one of the 10 leading causes of death for children and young people across the world, a World Health Organization (WHO) report reveals.

The global survey suggests it claims more than 372,000 lives each year - with children under five most at risk.

WHO officials say it is a hidden childhood killer, leading to more deaths among under-15s than tuberculosis or measles in 2012.

They say more needs to be done to tackle this preventable loss of life.

Peter Mellow's insight:

Teach your kids to swim, and always watch them around water, be it the bathtub or a pool.
