No kidding !  Gosh, no need to do huge studies on this one... seriously I say simply pay attention to what makes people great together... see the small things (free acts of kindness, gratitude expressed, etc.)... I have lots of time for appreciating others and perhaps this is what constitutes outstanding from average people... I am grateful just now!
