Samuel Pavin's insight:

I can but agree and really am happy to see some focus on the Baltics too.

However, Japan should also get more attention as the place is thriving - and so is Korea - more than India and China.

Really good post overall.

On startuplithuania.lt

Samuel Pavin's insight:

Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics, year II.

My worst miss of the year but yet another massive success for the event.

As for entrepreneurship, this is one of the great events when it comes to youth and inspiring tomorrow's entrepreneurs.

The value brought here is amazing and the structure of the event definitely makes it a hit for both attendees and speakers as we can have a chat with basically anybody.

In the end, an inspiring event but also an inspiration for countries willing to promote entrepreneurship.

The message is valid worldwide but it is interesting to also have a closer look at the region. Entrepreneurship is everywhere.

I Quit My Job to Live in a Tent and Write Code

I Quit My Job to Live in a Tent and Write Code | Entrepreneurship in the World | Scoop.it
Thomas Backlund is an entrepreneur, a coder and homeless by choice. He left everything to develop his startup and isn't coming back until he's a success.
Samuel Pavin's insight:

Entrepreneurship to the extreme but an interesting look at what dedication and will actually means.

That may be what people call "passion" but, in any case, that is an entrepreneur at heart making the leap of faith in order to achieve what he wants to achieve.

Take risks, bear no regrets.

16 Things My Big-Haired Boss Taught Me That I Never Learned In School | Entrepreneurship in the World | Scoop.it
Here are 16 things we've learned from co-founder and former CEO of SAYS, now Chairman of REV Asia and Venture Partner at 500 Startups, Khailee Ng.
Samuel Pavin's insight:

Life is not learnt at school.

Entrepreneurship is not learnt at school.

At least most entrepreneurs - and successful - entrepreneurs tend to have few links with schools and even less when it comes to fancy universities.

I definitely love it when people learn from experience rather as this does prove infinitely more valuable. Here are bits of valuable experience.

Startups shine amid Japanese corporate gloom

Startups shine amid Japanese corporate gloom | Entrepreneurship in the World | Scoop.it
Samuel Pavin's insight:

The new "Japan" of startups ? This piece is quite interesting and does appeal to me. I am glad to see Japan's continuous development when it comes to developing a startups culture.

Long way to go, still, but as the article mentions, the "salaryman" culture is not almighty anymore. And not the main option for many youngsters.

Yet, the ability to innovate is still there so, coupled to an eagerness to develop and do business, I think they do have the recipe for success.

An overall acceleration is the only missing bit as things progress a little slowly.
