It always amazes me that the most frequent reason for Startup failure claimed is "no market need"... Even in these times of the "Lean Startup" movement? And the key importance of product-market fit advocated in Steve Blank's work on Startups? I believe that this is not a cause but a mere symptom. The root cause is "missing validation of product-market fit", even "lack of organizational learning". The same being the case for the 2nd reason for Startup failure: "lack of capital". The actual root cause here is that we always underestimate the time to market and to financial success. And so on... What are your views?
