I want this technology right now. Tracing objects in 3D from a single photo.
Awesome tech shared by Erik de Bruijn on google plus. This is awesome powerful stuff however the only hurdle now is to extrapulate the internal structure of those objects. If that too could occur (don't ask me how) 3D modeling and printing will become so much more accessible to everyone.
Abstracting a level: the link between these two fields is that both grapple with complexity in a pragmatic way. When they’re at their best — avoiding the lofty idealism of political rhetoric or the techno-utopianism of designers — both fields find ways to act and create progress in a confusing world. They both avoid the detached analysis-paralysis of academia and the temptation to build grand theories from simplistic assumptions (I’m looking at you, rational-choice theory). Politics and design both live in the messy middle.
Fostering your creative interests can lead to a more vital and fulfilling life. To find creative fulfillment you need to eliminate all obstacles that might prevent your becoming creative.
Some affirmations to develop creativity can be:

Have you ever heard the saying "It's lonely at the top?" It's been said so often that some people in leadership positions actually believe that it should be lonely at the top. Nothing could be...
A leader’s relationship with their people needs to be “real.” As a leader, you need to know something about the people you lead. You can’t lead someone effectively until you know something about them. You can’t demonstrate that you care about them unless you can first demonstrate that you actually know them…. as a person.

Erez Lieberman Aiden and Jean-Baptiste Michel from Harvard University use the 15 million books scanned and digitized by Google to show how a visual and quantitative analysis of text can provide insights about fields as diverse as lexicography, the evolution of grammar, collective memory, the adoption of technology, the pursuit of fame, censorship, and historical epidemiology.
The thinking that develops with science education needs to be taught to everyone, argues Rachel Grieve.
For those engaging with science, learning the skills needed to be a critical consumer of information is invaluable. But should these skills remain in the domain of scientists? Clearly not: for those engaging with life, being a critical consumer of information is also invaluable, allowing informed judgement.
Creativity is essential in remaining relevant in a business world now characterized by fast pace and rapid change. It is needed to stay ahead of competition that has become more and more global and cutthroat.
So, can leadership creativity be developed and nurtured? I believe so, yes. Consider the following suggestions:
Generate lots of ideas. Look not only for the commonplace, but for the truly innovative, game-changing, and transformational. Originality is the key here.Experiment with the good ideas. Always look to go from good-to-great. Don’t be dissuaded by the fear of failure. Thomas Edison viewed each failure as one step closer to success.Be a passionate advocate of creativity and originality. Never remain satisfied with the status quo. Become an organization of learners and creative problem solvers.Protect the truly creative. Some individuals who have astonishing creative gifts are often viewed as nerds or social outcasts, perhaps worse. Make sure their contributions are recognized and shared, and that their value to the team is understood and appreciated.Inspire others. Share the wins on how creative approaches set the competition back on its heels. Dissect the failures and disseminate the lessons learned. Distribute the credit liberally and unselfishly.

Seven one million dollar prizes to recognize the eventual solution of seven classic mathematical problems that have resisted solution. Announced May 24, 2004
"If P = NP, then the world would be a profoundly different place than we usually assume it to be. There would be no special value in 'creative leaps,' no fundamental gap between solving a problem and recognizing the solution once it’s found. Everyone who could appreciate a symphony would be Mozart; everyone who could follow a step-by-step argument would be Gauss — Scott Aaronson, MIT
When using images and pictures from the web, students need to learn how to properly give credit to their owners. The graphic is a wonderful flow chart created byddd to help teachers teach their students about how to properly credit images they use. Enjoy

In case the view’s not enough, several apps and programs turn your trip into a game, offering GPS challenges, dispensing trivia and helping you make social connections mid-flight.
One of the ways Badgeville says it’s doing that is with a game it created for Expedia.com called Around the World in 100 Days, which Expedia plans to introduce in the coming weeks. Designed to get travelers more engaged with the Web site and Expedia’s loyalty program, the game begins with an introductory video. Then, players are asked to choose one of eight avatars and to select the type of travel experience that most appeals to them (city slicker, adventure addict, escape artist or culture buff).
