7 elements of thought leadership

7 elements of thought leadership | Entrepreneurs and Visionaries | Scoop.it

Thought leadership is back in vogue in a big way, and there are many who claim the thought leader mantle without a clue as to what thought leadership is and what it takes to attain the status.

With that being said, I will outline the elements of thought leadership and the accompanying benefits of that status. The term itself has only been around 19 years, first showing up in the Booz Allen Hamilton excellent magazine Strategy and Business.

A thought leader is an individual or company that is widely recognized as an authority in a specific niche. They are sought out by the media, conferences and potential clients for that expertise.

Why the Largest Social Network in 2015 Won't be Facebook, and Will Be From Asia | Innovation Insights | Wired.com | Entrepreneurs and Visionaries | Scoop.it

The time has come: Facebook is falling from grace. It appears that although people used to love flooding their friends’ newsfeeds with pictures and information displaying their every move and emotion, these people have now moved on. It’s no longer cool to upload hundreds of photos from your most recent vacation, which can be overwhelming for friends as well as for the uploaders themselves (uploading, adding captions, and tagging your photos can be a huge time commitment). Today, less is more. Keeping social sharing simple and instant is the secret to integrating into people’s lives and mobile devices.

Two Heads Are Better than One: Accelerate Your Success through Masterminding

Two Heads Are Better than One: Accelerate Your Success through Masterminding | Entrepreneurs and Visionaries | Scoop.it

We all know that two heads are better than one when it comes to solving a problem or creating a result. So imagine having a permanent group of five or six people who meet every week for the purpose of problem solving, brainstorming, networking, and encouraging and motivating each other!

This process is called masterminding and is one of the most effective success tools you can adopt! It is a powerful way to support your dreams and bring unlimited resources to your business and personal life.

Participating in a mastermind group has been critical to me. I can’t imagine achieving all I have without one, and it certainly made my goals happen much faster.

So so true ... if you really want to succeed in business then in the early days it really is a matter of make do and mend, leveraging, bootstrapping, begging, borrowing or whatever to make things work. It is the end result that matters and in some instances it really doesn't matter how you get there as long as not too many bugs are hurt along the way.

Does Planning REALLY Matter?

Does Planning REALLY Matter? | Entrepreneurs and Visionaries | Scoop.it

Planning. If you've decided to start your own business, you've no doubt read or been told how very vital planning is. It's an "everyone knows...." But is small business planning really all THAT important? Consider these simple facts, and judge for yourself.

Large companies are the equivalent of the large, red, double-decker busses that take tourists around London. They move slowly, they’re top heavy and it’s hard for them to navigate corners and the inevitable bumps in the road.

You, my small business friend, are a Maserati. You can accelerate and decelerate as needed. You’re small, nimble and can change directions quickly. This can be one of your greatest competitive advantages. There is one caveat. You only have the advantage if you recognize it and take advantage of it. How does one accomplish this? Why, by planning, of course!

Planning is

a critical component for all companies. It informs how you spend your money, how much profit you can expect and if you will have the resources to deliver goods or services to your customers. You are never too small, too big or too successful to plan.

The 23 Best Things Warren Buffett Ever Said About Investing

The 23 Best Things Warren Buffett Ever Said About Investing | Entrepreneurs and Visionaries | Scoop.it

Most would agree that Warren Buffett is the greatest investor who ever lived.

And Buffett is frequently sharing the wisdom that earned him his riches.

Thankfully, he has a remarkable ability to communicate complicated topics in plain language and often in a folksy tone.

His annual letters are always-must reads.

But many of his best lines come from TV appearances, newspaper op-eds, magazine interviews, and sometimes even word of mouth.

Meet.fm is an outstanding new web conferencing app that provides permanent cloud-based meeting rooms and which supports video, audio-conferencing and VoIP, scree-sharing, co-browsing, file sharing, and more.

From the same guys that originally brought you YouDazzle.com, here is a new web conferencing app that really shines in terms of design, ease of use and functionalities offered.

Meet.fm can be used both as a collaborative platform, where every participant can engage, talk and contribute to the session, as well as a webinar-like tool, where there is essentially one presenter guiding the overall attendee experience.

The Meet.fm interface can be personalized with your custom colors and logo and you have the opportunity to tap into most of the major cloud services, directly from Meet.fm. Right now Box.net, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Evernote are all supported. You can upload any file you have sitting on those services and share it or present it immediately to your Meet.fm attendees.

Meet.fm offers a free plan that allows for about eight hours/monthly of one permanent fully-featured 1GB collaboration room for a max of 3 people. Piad plans allow for unlimited time, rooms and for 500+ participants and 100GB of storage (at $199/mo top plan).
