Scoop.it Introduces New Layout Templates, Full Topic Embeds and Direct White-Label Publishing to WordPress | Entrepreneurial Passion | Scoop.it

Scoop.it, the content discovery, curation, distribution and publishing platform has recently added some very significant improvements to its offering, that make it service even more interesting for any kind of online publisher, company or agency looking forward to find, vet and curate the best content available online on a specific topic.

The first and long-awaited new feature is the availability of multiple layout templates that Scoop.it publishers can now utilize and which can be swtiched to instantly.

The second one is full embedding of curated topics onto any web page to make it easiest for any publisher to rapidly integrate and display scoop.it content directly on their sites.

The third and most powerful new addition is the availability of a new white label direct publishing feature for WordPress-based publishers.

Although I have not had the opportunity to test this new feature, which is available only through a new Marketers subscription plan, it surely looks as the perfect fit for all those publishers who wanted to use Scoop.it more as a backend for producing curated content for their site than as a final publishing destination.

With these new additions Scoop.it consolidates itself as feature-rich, reliable and affordable content curation system that can satisfy many different types of needs: from education, to content marketing, news publishing and community building.

Nice to see SI moving along.  I haven't read this and I wonder if it's the news I read a few weeks ago.  At any rate I think SI is getting a bit ahead in the race between them and RebelMouse.

I've had an issue in the UI with RM for almost 2 months and they don't seem inclined to do anything about it....but SI has always worked fine.

"Sharing insight on a topic you're well versed in"... This is so fundamental to being a Thought Leader.

Shana Starr lists five steps. I subscribe to all of them.

I'd add content curation to them: finding, acknowledging and sharing great content created by others also contributes to demonstrating your expertise and willingness to share; a legit and effective addition to writing; a necessary skill of Thought Leaders.

1. Clarify your purpose

2. Identify your voice

3. Write

4. Build an active online presence

5. Be a mentor.

Great post, wise advices.

Some folks have ask me if I do a blog. I'm a fairly long winded commenter with lots of opinions and thoughts on the topics I care about. The answer is yes, but not seriously. I thought this article might help me get more serious about that. Why waste your thoughts to be left to fly away with time? Someone might be able to build on them even if you don't. Sometimes sad to say we even forget some of our own best ideas when we have time to work on them. Why not record them and store them on a blog.

5 Characteristics Of High Converting Headlines

5 Characteristics Of High Converting Headlines | Entrepreneurial Passion | Scoop.it

The information you’re about to read is very powerful, but I need to offer two disclaimers.

All these techniques don’t work all the time in every situation. Nonetheless, the data does point to these characteristics as being effective most of the time.Different techniques work better for different audiences. Studies may say one thing, but your mileage may vary. You know your audience best.

Via Neil Ferree

Neil Ferree's curator insight, July 8, 10:45 AM

The better your headline, the better your marketing.

Use these five characteristics to improve your conversion rates. Here’s what works:

  • Use numbers (odd numbers work best)
  • Use 5-9 words if people are familiar 16-18 if they’re not
  • Use negative words, or at least few positive superlatives
  • Use a two-part model
  • Be very, very clear

I chose to Scoop this article from Neil Patel since he's one of the most respected and successful online marketers I know.

The interesting thing was how the headline Neil used in this piece didn't score well when I tested it via AMI headline analyzer?

I made a minor tweak to get a score of 62% but left the original headline in tact. I only edited the image.

Just like many people confuse advertising and marketing, we still have lots of problem with the world personal branding as we're taught humility is a virtue. But as Dorie Clark explains, marketing is not about shamelessly selling yourself but rather "about understanding and identifying your core strengths, and then helping others understand them, as well."

The opportunity is here though: "If you’re blogging about your field of interest, or curating interesting tweets, or regularly update your LinkedIn profile and share high-quality articles you’ve read, that will rank highly in search results and present a strong professional image to the world."

You are the content you publish.
