Along with being a financial advisor for these people comes movie premieres, concerts, and other red carpet events. A job like this takes a lot of experience and credibility, because the advisor needs the client to trust them. If an advisor ever made it to this level, it is possible they could make as much as five percent of their clients salary.

As a personal financial advisor to celebrities, it is necessary to perform the basic duties of an accountant, but instead of working for a financial corporation and assisting everyday citizens, they assist stars with a lot of money. As their financial advisor, you would assist them in making investments, making large purchases, such as real estate or cars, and even help them manage their money for the smaller purchases they make.

Just because someone is a financial advisor doesn't necessarily mean that they will work directly with someone that is famous. It is also possible that they could work for screenwriters, producers or up and coming actors who still need assistance from an accountant. Although these people may not need someone to oversee every purchase they make, the financial advisor should be there to answer any question they have about their financial situation.

In the case that a large Studio is providing funding for a movie, the Production Accountant will then work closely with that studio's Finance Executive, which will give the accountant rules and guidelines for them to follow. The accountant could also be given a Production Accountant manual unique to that particular studio which they are also required to abide by.
Allison Eades's comment, March 5, 2014 8:41 AM
While on the job, Production accountants have many responsibilities. These responsibilities include of course calculating all of the finances and making sure that all payments are made on time. They are also responsible for making sure that the budget stays on track throughout the making of the entire production. In addition to controlling the financial side of the production, they can also be in control of the legal side. It is the accountants responsibility to make sure that the production is following all of the legal guidelines. Before the production begins though, the Production accountant meets with other members of the studio or crew and determines the budget and estimated final cost, this way the accountant knows what budget they need to stick to.
