What High Performers Want at Work | Social Business and Digital Transformation | Scoop.it

A high performer can deliver 400% more productivity than the average performer.

Despite this, when most managers look at workforce statistics, all employees tend to be lumped together into a category so broadly defined that it becomes difficult to take meaningful decisions. If your average employee tenure is six years, is that good or bad? You could benchmark the Fortune 500 and find that indeed you would look pretty good, tied at 40th place. But if the people you are keeping are the low performers and your high performers are leaving, would that be really so great?

Innovation is a network activity

Innovation is a network activity | Social Business and Digital Transformation | Scoop.it
In business, attention is paid to innovative individuals, especially those who go on to become captains of industry. But of more importance is the ability of the network (society, organization, company) to stay connected to its collective knowledge in order to keep innovating. Just think how quickly an organization would its lose collective knowledge if people did not share their knowledge. What about an entire society?

In The Next Version - Introducing IBM Verse

In The Next Version - Introducing IBM Verse | Social Business and Digital Transformation | Scoop.it
About a year ago IBM first announced they would be developing their next generation email client, code named MailNext. Today in NYC (and similar satellite events around the world) IBM unveiled the official product, now named IBM Verse. That's verse as in converse, or social interaction, not the shoe company. It's not a play on universe, nor a song or poem, nor related to Lotus "Notes" making up a verse!

The big guns of software want to close out 2014 with an email splash. Microsoft launched its email-improver offering last week. Google earlier released its beefed-up Gmail. It's IBM's turn today. For months, Big Blue had been showing off a new email service under the code name of "Mail Next." Today, the company takes the blindfold off and makes it official with IBM Verse -- an offering officials say revolutionizes email by using analytics and social capabilities to simply make Topic: Social Business.

Transport for London builds customer profiles using RFID data analytics

Transport for London builds customer profiles using RFID data analytics | Social Business and Digital Transformation | Scoop.it

Cards have become more important than cash in moving around London. In July 2014, Transport for London (TfL) stopped accepting cash on its buses, telling commuters they had to use Oyster cards, or debit or credit cards with a contactless payment chip. It also began to accept cards on its Underground and rail services.

TfL flagged up the customer convenience angle and acknowledged the change would make big savings over time – but the move to card payments will also provide more data it can use for long-term planning.

It demonstrates the potential to tap data from near field communication (NFC) cards and radio frequency identification (RFID) tags for analytics at macro and micro levels.

Come portare lo smart working in ufficio vincendo le resistenze

Come portare lo smart working in ufficio vincendo le resistenze | Social Business and Digital Transformation | Scoop.it
