| ENT | Scoop.it

9 Tools to Create E-magazines and Newspapers for Your Class

9 Tools to Create E-magazines and Newspapers for Your Class | ENT | Scoop.it

I am pretty sure as you introduce the idea to your students everyone will want to have a say in their next e-magazine. There is nothing much more rewarding to students then to have a proof of their hard work recognized in a publication of some sort.

Most of the tools cited here are easy to use and have user friendly interface and they will let you create your own e-magazine or newspaper in few simple steps. Yet I would recommend your discretion as you use them with your students.

My 10 Favorite Educational Mind Maps

My 10 Favorite Educational Mind Maps | ENT | Scoop.it

They may look like jumbled and messy flowcharts for the insane, but mind maps are actually extremely useful and perfect tools for brainstorming. You essentially take a flow of ideas and translate them into interconnected webs designed to help clarify your thinking (or mind, as it were).

==========================================

Gust MEES

You can use mindmaps also when you organize an event, to make sure that you don't forget anything, e.g. http://gustmeesfr.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/vdujwtjyx3uq-ri20vw-tipmindmap17-apr-09-15-171.jpg  It's a mindmap which I used in 2004 already to organize a Theater piece about learning basics of #IT-Security which you can follow here http://gustmeesfr.wordpress.com/2011/12/28/securite-pc-et-internettheatre-interactif-et-pedagogique/

QuadBlogging Connects Student Writers with Global Audiences

QuadBlogging Connects Student Writers with Global Audiences | ENT | Scoop.it
A blog without an audience is like...a library without books, a car without an engine, Beyonce without a ring.

The idea is deceptively simple. Four teachers agree to have their students comment on each other's blogs in an organized fashion. Each week, one of the four gets a turn as the spotlight class. The other three classes visit and leave comments. Over the course of a month, every student's work gets read and commented upon. Along the way, students learn about respectful online communication. They may decide to revise their thinking if a commenter shares a perspective they haven't considered.

The Future Internet: Service Web 3.0

Future Internet - Supported by STI International: http://www.sti2.org

With over a billion users, today's Internet is arguably the most successful human artifact ever created. The Future Internet, an initiative driven by the European Union, has become a prime research focus of STI International and the Service Web 3.0 project.

In order to explain, promote, and attract new contributors, we created a video to be viewed by stakeholders, who may be non-experts, in a new generation Internet. The video outlines the basic themes of the European Union's Future Internet initiative.

These include: an Internet of Services, where services are ubiquitous; ===> an Internet of Things where in principle every physical object becomes an online addressable resource <===; a Mobile Internet where 24/7 seamless connectivity over multiple devices is the norm; and the need for semantics in order to meet the challenges presented by the dramatic increase in the scale of content and users.

This post is really relevant to my education, because recently (in project and english) I have needed to make blogs or an online presentation for class. This infographic displays the benefits of using a slightly obscure (honestly, a bit like scoop.it) medium to do so. It offers a very reasonable argument for why to use their site for projects in class. I might even use Pinterest for my upcoming english project.
