Michael Fullan y Katelyn Donnelly han escrito un interesante informe en torno a una guía de acciones concretas y relacionadas con la tecnología que permitirá a los directivos, gerentes y educadores, tomar decisiones mas acertadas en torno al contexto tecnológico del aprendizaje. Este informe identifica las brechas persistentes en la actividad de innovación y aspectos a los que hay que prestar una especial atención si queremos finalmente hacer realidad la “promesa” de la tecnología para transformar el aprendizaje. Los autores argumentan que debemos buscar innovaciones digitales que produzcan al menos dos veces el resultado de aprendizaje por la mitad del coste que con las herramientas actuales. Para lograr esto, tres fuerzas deben unirse. Una de ellas es la tecnología, la otra la pedagogía , y la tercera es el cambio de paradigma , o la forma de asegurar la transformación a través de un sistema escolar considerado globalmente. El núcleo del informe es el desarrollo de un índice que reúne estos tres elementos juntos, y que nos permite evaluar sistemáticamente las innovaciones digitales.

It's interesting to see that content curation is evolving from an opportunity to a necessity as communication shifts from traditional methods (PR, advertising, old-style SEO...) to new ones (content marketing, inbound marketing, social media...). In this new world of communication many things have changed and professionals or companies who want to get heard need to consider this question:


Do people listen to you because they have to or because they want to?


As my friend Steve Rosenbaum, author of Curation Nation, puts it in his latest book, Curate This, we can't rely anymore on captive audiences. Consumers filter out spammy messages which is why, to be heard, we have to curate or die.

Caveats: Students need to NOT be pressured into an economic mold—it destroys motivation , curiosity and love of learning (science shows that these are the basis for life-long mental resilience). People learn at their own pace and have individual processing modes. It is vital for our future to nurture instrinsic motivation in the next generation.

Las Tecnologías de aprendizaje en línea y los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje, en particular, están atrayendo una atención considerable, y es probable que formar aspectos estratégicos clave en el aprendizaje especialmente en el universitarios. Estudiantes de diversos niveles parecen disfrutar de la autonomía de acceder a los conocimientos a través de las comunicaciones en línea y recursos basados en la web. Sin embargo, simplemente tener acceso al conocimiento sin experiencia no parece ser suficiente para el desarrollo de la experiencia la resolución de problemas y el control metacognitivo. Estamos investigando, desde la periferia de los centros de poder, los efectos de las indicaciones metacognitivas incrustados en los alumnos la conciencia metacognitiva, y los efectos de las tutorías virtuales sobre el desarrollo de los estudiantes en su esfera metacognitiva y en la experiencia que poduce la resolución de problemas .

Los decribimos como un entorno en línea que consta de diferentes andamios metacognitivos: modelado experto en el vídeo digital en línea, el acceso a los procedimientos, y los avisos de auto-evaluación, y la interacción entre los docentes y estudiantes en una plataforma Web. Los resultados sugieren que los mensajes metacognitivas incrustados se pueden utilizar como andamios para aumentar la conciencia alumnos de sus procesos de pensamiento en curso, y la necesidad de planificar su curso de acción y comprobar su precisión a medida que progresan a través de cualquier tarea de resolución de problemas. También parece que la externalización de las actividades mentales del experto a los estudiantes puede ser una estrategia efectiva de andamios en la orientación de la atención de los alumnos con aspectos específicos de sus procesos de aprendizaje, e involucrarlos en la autoevaluación de su propio aprendizaje y comprensión.

"Pedagogy is the driver, technology the accelerator.” This popular thought has been making the rounds on social media, instilling the importance of “pedagogy first, technology second.” This kind of thinking speaks volumes to educators for many reasons. Technology is often branded ‘disruptive’, a term justly despised by many. After all, what educator wants disruption? By placing the emphasis on ‘disruptive’ technology, over pedagogy, we’re making the wrong argument for education reform. For an educator, changing pedagogical method is not as easy as many would like to believe. Changing method with ‘disruptive’ technology? Forget about it. What we should be looking at is rather the pedagogy behind the technology… the purpose behind the tools."

The pace of change is not new to 2014/2015. Deep thinkers such as Hannah Arendt, Alfred North Whitehead, and Jacques Ellul wrote about the pace and an inability to keep pace. Arendat suggested we may not have the language needed.

 

It is a challenge which may need new conversations and questions rather than dogmatic answers. The conversations have to include those closest to the action, teachers.
