New study shows EU’s patchwork university fees system

University tuition fees cost more in England than anywhere else in Europe, according to a new report from the European Commission – but the headline figures are not the whole story for students sizing up how to survive.

When I was a kid, the Kennedy administration had its “brain trust” of Harvard faculty members, and university professors were often vital public intellectuals who served off and on in government. Classement du Times Higher Education 2012-2013 : recul des universités occidentales

Rééquilibrage entre l’est et l’ouest de la planète et creusement d’un fossé en Europe sont les principaux enseignements du nouveau classement 2012-2013 du Times Higher Education.

 

Sept établissements français apparaissent dans le classement 2012-2013 des 200 premières universités mondiales, établi par le Times Higher Education et dévoilé le 3 octobre 2012. La première française, l’ENS de Paris, conserve sa 59° place, suivie de Polytechnique (62° rang qui gagne une place) et de l’UPMC (81° place, gain de trois places). Paris Diderot est à la 166° place (contre 169 en 2011) et l’ENS Lyon recule de 29 places (de 141 à 170). Deux universités françaises apparaissent pour la première fois : Paris Sud (92°) et l’université Joseph Fourier Grenoble 1 (180° place). (...) - EducPros.fr
