I love flowers and their wonderful scents, but I must admit an aversion to sleeping with them. As a child, my mother often put lilac in my room, a pant to which I was terribly allergic. Yes, I know. Anyway, it put me of such scents at night. Years latter when in the south of France, I realized that the wonderful odors in our hotel room were creating a sense of paranoia. During the day, they were fine, but not once I closed my eyes. What a shame. At any rate, hope you have a great night's sleep every night.

Kenneth Weene's insight:
One bit of advice: Don't worry if you aren't sleeping, because the worry will keep you up. I usually sleep through the night, but if I don't, I have a method to get back to sleep without tossing too much. My trick, go to a safe inner dialog, one that you know the outcome ahead, and rehash it. Amazing how little you care about continuing it so your mind can turn off. What's you suggestion.

If I could remember what the article said, I'd probably be impressed. Seriously, this is fairly obvious stuff except that they didn't do the right control, training a group of elderly until their pre-sleep performance was equal to the younger group. If the amount of slow-wave sleep is essential, then meditation and hypnosis may become at least paliative.

I'm not going to ask who sleeps nude, in pjs, in underwear, night gowns, or whatever. Nope, no poll, but feel free to tell us. I just thought this worth sharing as health and wellness information. One thing, however, be sure you keep something close at hand to put on in case of emergency. Last thing you want to do is go downstairs to confront a burglar with nothing but your Smith and Wesson to cover you. And, should their be a fire, do not exit in too full view. The fire department might be too busy taking obscene photos to aim their hoses. Anyway, have a great night's sleep.
