Good Reasons to Complete Your Degree

There are all sorts of areas and a variety of majors, some paying more than others but in general, college graduates will earn more money during their lifetime than those without a college education or degree.

Hannah's curator insight, April 10, 2013 3:39 PM

My thoughts:

I was always skeptical about the whole college system due to the fact that I knew so many people who have succeeded without having a college education, and sometimes even without a high school education. This encouraged me to be more independent by doing things that were impactful to me other than school, but at the same time, it discouraged me to try as hard. When I read this article, I felt like it was pointless; I barely got through high school, how am I going to spend years studying and trying hard to finish my degree? When I read through it over and over again, I thought about my life with a finished degree and without a finished degree. I can't seem to shake off the thought of not completing something in life... especially because it's one of my pet peeves, not finishing something. Completing this degree, I feel, would be so much more beneficial than what it seems; there's the boost of confidence you get, the feeling of being complete, the traits you grow from spending time in college, the people you meet throughout the years, etc. I realized that nothing holds me back besides myself. I often doubt myself and underestimate the things that I'm capable of, so this article gave me a boost and really uplifted me from thinking so lowly of myself. It pretty much said to me, "get yo shiz done."
