Cuevana TV

Cuevana TV | English Digitools | Scoop.it

This is a very useful website to improve your listening skills. There are a lot of films and TV series in original version. and most of them allow you to choose between Spanish or English subtitles. Just place your mouse on the film screen and click on the CC button which is at the bottom right corner for subtitles. You do not need to register to watch a film or TV series, but it would be a good idea to register so that you can leave a comment and recommend a film or TV series to your classmates or other viewers.

VOSCREEN - Film Clips

VOSCREEN - Film Clips | English Digitools | Scoop.it

When learning a language it is very important that you train your ear and listen to as many different accents as possible. This is the only way to be able to understand people from different countries and nationalities.

Voscreen will help you to improve your listening skills, it is free and very easy to use. You can sign up, access through your Facebook account or start as a guest. Just select your mother tongue, then get ready to listen to a short film clip. You will see two possibilities: I understand (you are given a choice of two translations in your mother tongue and you have to choose the right one) and then, Show me the script (you can see the transcript of the video segment and the translation in your mother tongue).

I hope you find it useful!

Storyteller, writing prompts

Storyteller, writing prompts | English Digitools | Scoop.it
“One writes to make a home for oneself, on paper, in time and in others' minds” Alfred Kazin
Inma Alcázar's insight:

I don't think this is and EFL teacher's blog, but includes writing prompts which teachers of English can show their students to encourage them to write. Through thought-provoking pictures and short video scenes, students will get engaged in the writing process.

Road To Grammar --- Grammar practice and vocabulary

Road To Grammar --- Grammar practice and vocabulary | English Digitools | Scoop.it

Road to grammar is a great site to practise grammar and vocabulary. One of the things I like the most about this site is that if you choose the wrong answer in the quiz  and you click on Notes, it provides  a note explaining why your answer is correct or incorrect. The flash-based game Fluent allows 2 students to play.

1000 images on the tip of my tongue - trilingual directory to learn idioms | English Digitools | Scoop.it

Understanding and using idioms in a foreign language helps us to communicate in a more realistic way. How to Learn English

How to Learn English | English Digitools | Scoop.it

With regards to Kaplan Internacional, the best way to learn English is through immersive courses, travelling to an English speaking country or having English classes with other foreigners. However, not everybody has the opportunity to live in an English speking country for a long time or pay for classes. In addition to this, I strongly believe, as Adam says in his blog post, learning a language is a lifetime journey: the internet. The internet is a opened door to learning, to any language and culture you can imagine and it allows you to communicate with foreign people from all around the world. Read some tips about how you can take advantage of the Internet to learn English.
