Lots of very interesting comments, the trends gated by acceptance, and use within the educational community and the " permission" or purchases within the schools.
Laura Starace's comment, June 3, 2013 3:22 AM
I am also surprised 15% have no interests in using whiteboards though, not all schools have the chance or "permission" as already mentioned to use it or implement it

Are Teachers and Learners in sync on technology?

LingleOnline's insight:
What do learners want? Instructors out of sync.....two of the headlines that caught my attention. This article seems to reflect the revelation often heard at edtech conferences these days - teachers are adopting technology because their students are driving them to do so. I'd like to know where the gap/overlap is with students and teacher adoption of technology; why they adopt technology, why they choose the tech., their expectations on outcomes and the ultimate impact. What, if any, are the drivers for knowledge growth...

Officers and a bomb-sniffing dog were on hand as the rifle association unveiled its plan to train and arm security guards at every school in the nation.
LingleOnline's insight:

... I get the point of the second amendement but REALLY! do you think more people with more training and more guns will actually protect kids, teachers and schools? History tells us where that goes, they crazy people get bigger and better guns, so the protectors must get bigger and better guns until we end up with the "Educational Nuclear Treaty". There's got to be a better way.

Back to basics folks, let's start with the Meg Whitman approach at eBay ... lets assume people are fundamentally good and start from there.

16 Companies Working On E-Textbooks Of The Future - Edudemic | English Language and Education Tech | Scoop.it
What do the e-textbooks of the future actually look like? Who is making them? These companies are the big names you should keep an eye on.
LingleOnline's insight:

All the usual suspects on this list, with a few surprises, what doesn't come as a surprise is that publishers appear to be still 'thinking inside the book' as it were. Much though I love a good book I don't see the 'e-book' as it is generally conceived as the future. People consume information differently in the hectic highly connected world it comes in smaller chunks, it's there where and when you want it, it's flexible and interactive it's not just a new 'version' with some more pictures and a couple of animations, it's related, it's contextualized, it's real and it's interesting....
