For those who don’t know the Gestalt Community Schools, they are an outstanding set of charter schools that believe in building better communities through education; They are achieving excellent results for their students who mainly hail from low-income communities. Innovation abounds at Gestalt’s middle and high schools where students and teachers are using a rotational blended learning model that focuses on closing skill deficits in literacy and numeracy.
In this model, students rotate through 3 learning stations:
- The first is direct instruction from the teacher,
- the second is guided practice in small groups,
- and the third is independent digital practice prescribed by the classroom teacher.

How often do you struggle with a student, trying to motivate them to be engaged? The author of this post states "I pirate much of my thinking about motivation, kids’ achievement and success in life from my work with young, elite soccer players." He goes on to say that motivation that is found with young soccer players is also found with students in the classroom, that it "makes a real difference." He also provides a short historical background before sharing 13 motivational techniques, with explanations that explain why some techniques do not work for some children. Delete the scoop?

We all know at least one person who refuses to be drawn to technology. 'It's too difficult', 'I'm too old', 'It's not for me'....the excuses are vast and reasoning fairly simple to understand for technology is at once scary and exciting.

It is a hoax! Great analogy.......life is a musical thing and we should be dancing as we go. Goals are wonderful and necessary ( to me) but we must be present and stay aware of the ride. It is a ride.
I have children who are young adults. Praying they heard my message and take their time, experiencing everything by being present. I hope they take as long as they need to be college learners; to stay learners for life. Racing to the mortgage is an error many of us made. What a mistake! Delete the scoop?
