Stockage d'énergie - Wikipédia

Le stockage de l'énergie est l'action qui consiste à placer une quantité d'énergie en un lieu donné pour permettre son utilisation ultérieure. Par extension, le terme « stockage d'énergie » est souvent employé pour désigner le stockage de matière qui contient cette énergie. La maîtrise du stockage de l'énergie est particulièrement importante pour valoriser les énergies alternatives, telles que l'éolien ou le solaire, sûres et renouvelables, mais par nature intermittentes.

On s'intéressera ici principalement à l'opération consistant à créer un stock à partir d'énergie disponible, et non directement à la gestion des stocks (notamment des stocks d'énergie fossile), ni au déstockage.

Le stockage d'énergie est un enjeu à la hauteur de la consommation d'énergie : primordial.

For that, at Zoz GmbH in Wenden/Germany, hydrogen-tank systems (H2Tank2Go®) are developed and manufactured that in medium term will be incorporated into the electric vehicles of the therefore specially founded company Zoz Mobility (prototypes already semi-commercially available). As the metal hydride storage material inside the tank cartridges, the Zoz powder material called Hydrolium® is utilized. Particular attention is given to the manufacturing cost since as well as in electrical mobility itself, they represent the major barrier to successful market introduction. Zoz thereby wants to reduce the storage costs to one-eighth of the previous usual.

The Gigafactory is Tesla's answer to the question of how it will be able to make a $35,000 EV that will be able to over 200 miles on a charge. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that a 30-percent decrease in cost for the batteries is "probably conservative at this point." The Reno Gigafactory could be in operation by late 2016. Tesla is partnering with Panasonic on the plant.

To charge or discharge the nanoFLOWCELL, two different electrolytic solutions are pumped through the appropriate battery cell in which an electrode (anode or cathode) is located.

 

A membrane separates the two electrolyte chambers and their differing chemistries. At a nominal voltage of 600 V and 50 A nominal current, the system in the lab is achieving continuous output of 30 kW.

 

According to nanoFLOWCELL, its flow battery has a specific energy of about 5-times that of a Li-ion battery (600 Wh/kg compared to ~120 Wh/kg). The company attributes the performance of the nanoFLOWCELL to the characteristics of its newly-developed, and unspecified, electrolytic fluids, made up of metallic salts at very high concentration.

The company also claims its flow cells can go through 10,000 charging cycles with no noticeable memory effect and suffer almost no self-discharging.

Metal hydrides, the scientific focus of ECOSTORE, are of special interest for both: obviously for hydrogen storage, but – as recently found - also for electrochemical energy storage as novel solid state ion conductors and anode conversion materials. They exhibit superior hydrogen and electrochemical energy storage capacities as well as high ionic conductivities at ambient temperatures. For further development of these highly promising materials, but also for transfer to industrial production and use in energy storage applications, well trained experts are needed, who not only have an in-depth knowledge of materials and characterisation techniques, but who also have an understanding of the production technologies and potential applications of these materials for all fields of energy storage technologies.

Development of (i) novel bi- and tri-metal borohydrides, complex nitrogen based hydrides, their combinations and Reactive Hydride Composites with high hydrogen densities, low decomposition temperatures, high ion conductivities at low temperatures, and high electrochemical capacities, respectively, Cost reduction by utilisation of less pure raw materials, available on a larger industrial scale, while still preserving storage performance of the materials.Evaluation of the techno-economical potentials, by studying the cycling and degradation behaviour of most promising materials in a prototype hydrogen storage tank, and in prototype battery cells, respectively.

CLOSING THE CARBON CYCLE

sunfire has developed a technique for efficient liquid fuel (petrol, diesel, kerosene, methanol) production. Base products carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) are used in combination with electrical energy from regenerative sources to produce process gas which is subsequently synthesized into hydrocarbons.


sunfire’s vision is to create a closed carbon cycle using renewable energy, carbon dioxide (CO2), and water (H2O) to provide sustainable fuels. These fuels will power cars, planes, and ships for mobility, as well as staxera’s high-temperature fuel cells (SOFC) for decentralized electricity generation without changes to current fuel distribution infrastructure.

Performance: 200 kW units (multipliable)
Operating temperature: approx. 850°C
Steam conversion: approx. 70%
Process pressure: max. 30 bar

Now : Proof of technical feasibility at industrial scale
Commercialization is dependent on further technological development and regulatory factors
and scheduled for 2016.

BrightSource’s system uses proprietary software to control thousands of tracking mirrors, known as heliostats, to directly concentrate sunlight onto a boiler filled with water that sits atop a tower. When the sunlight hits the boiler, the water inside is heated and creates high temperature steam. Once produced, the steam is used either in a conventional turbine to produce electricity or in industrial process applications, such as thermal enhanced oil recovery (EOR)
