Four African girls have created a generator that produces electricity for six hours using a single liter of urine as fuel.


The generator was unveiled at last week's Maker Faire in Lagos, Nigeria, by the four teens Duro-Aina Adebola, Akindele Abiola, and Faleke Oluwatoyin, all age 14, and Bello Eniola, 15.


So how exactly does the urine-powered generator work?


Urine is put into an electrolytic cell, which separates out the hydrogen.


The hydrogen goes into a water filter for purification, which then gets pushed into the gas cylinder.


The gas cylinder pushes hydrogen into a cylinder of liquid borax, which is used to remove the moisture from the hydrogen gas.


This purified hydrogen gas is pushed into the generator...

Excellent breakthrough by teenagers. Pl. lets know the total power input given to the system & details of electrolytic cell & the corresponding hydrogen generated. Total cost of generation with detailed brea-kup, in order to assess its viability.

Te basic principle in any machine design is to reduce the number of tightly coupled moving parts. The new Toyota engine removes most of it, converting mechanical energy directly to electrical energy driving the car. The contraption can run on both petrol and diesel.

At the moment advanced electric cars like Tesla give 400+ kilometres on a single charge, other much less including Nissan. This Israeli designed battery gives about 1600 kilometres.

 

The battery is unique in that it uses, as the caption says, air, water and metal. Not much details are given in the article but the research team hopes to achieve 3000 kilometres range.

 

The experimental car was essentially a production line model of the body fitted with the electric power unit. The problem with Israelis is they always insist on their pound of flesh.

Although it's getting increasingly common to see solar panels on the roofs of homes, household wind turbines are still a fairly rare sight.

 

If Rotterdam-based tech firm The Archimedes has its way, however, that will soon change. Today the company officially introduced its Liam F1 Urban Wind Turbine, which is said to have an energy yield that is "80 percent of the maximum that is theoretically feasible." That's quite the assertion, given that most conventional wind turbines average around 25 to 50 percent.

 

That form factor reportedly results in minimal mechanical resistance, allowing it to spin very freely and to operate quietly...

This is a remarkable development based on the fourth phase of water. Here Jerry explains what the phase is, how to isolate it and what it actually does inside our body.

 

This phase is negatively charged versus other parts of water that is positively charged, creating some sort of electric circuit. The fourth phase excludes solutes, hence also called exclusion zone [or EZ] which can then be separated. The technology of separation has been patented but the process is shown in the video and one can actually see the fourth state through a microscope.

This is absolutely brilliant invention. As a researcher I have personally faced the problem of collecting samples and sending them in special boxes to a distant lab. This makes testing so easy, cheap and practical. Just about anyone can do a blood test anywhere.

Students at the University of Virginia have developed a new way of purifying water that they say could bring improved water quality for millions in the developing world.  It’s called a Madi Drop. Field testing begins this month in South Africa.

 

What’s created is called a MadiDrop – a ceramic disc infused with silver.

 

When dropped in water, silver ions, which are atoms that have an electrical charge,, are released to purify the water.  And, testing here at the University of Virginia shows clean, safe water.

 

“It’s not just about making a really great technology that effectively removes or kills bacteria and pathogens.  It’s about making a low cost, simple to use one, tailored to people in developing countries who don’t have many resources,” said Beeta Ehdaie, a doctoral candidate at UVA.

Dean Kamen's slingshot water purifier:

 

Inside the big red box sits a smaller one, about the size of a dorm fridge, called a Slingshot.

 

It was developed by Kamen, the mastermind behind dozens of medical-equipment inventions and, most famously, the Segway personal transportation device.

 

Kamen is the closest thing to a modern-day Thomas Edison. He holds hundreds of patents, and his creations have improved countless lives. His current projects include a robotic prosthetic arm for DARPA and a Stirling engine that generates affordable electricity by using “anything that burns” for fuel.

 

The Slingshot, more than 10 years in the making, could have a bigger impact than all of his other inventions combined.

 

Using a process called vapor compression distillation, a single Slingshot can purify more than 250,000 liters of water per year, enough to satisfy the needs of about 300 people. And it can do so with any water source—sewage, seawater, chemical waste—no matter how dirty.

I will share my results later this year but briefly this is what we have achieved:

Vedic method alone: Average 60% increase in yield

Vedic with System of Crop Intensification: 80% plus increase

 

Now I am experimenting with (a) biochar, (b) biochar with remineralization [basalt rock flour] and (c) biochar+ remineralization+ PANCHGAVYA [Part of Vedic method]. The third one should give me 200 to 400% increase in yield.  

 

Here are the 16 benefits of biochar:

Yesterday, there was a wall of Tesla patents in the lobby of our Palo Alto headquarters. That is no longer the case. They have been removed, in the spirit of the open source movement, for the advancement of electric vehicle technology.

 

Tesla Motors was created to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport. If we clear a path to the creation of compelling electric vehicles, but then lay intellectual property landmines behind us to inhibit others, we are acting in a manner contrary to that goal. Tesla will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology.

Britain and Germany with combined population of 145 million generate 8% of electricity needs from wind. With more advanced and compact 'wind vortex' generators with low profile, it should be possible to scale up wind energy even faster. The best thing about vortex generator is that almost the entire plant is essentially sheet metal work given shape that creates powerful vortex inside which turns the turbine blades directly connected to generator. The result is high efficiency [high conversion rate] with least adverse environmental impact.

 

From the same source, great news from China. "Once China’s Renewable Energy Law established the development framework for renewables in 2005, the stage was set for wind’s exponential growth. Wind generating capacity more than doubled each year from 2006 to 2009 and has since increased by nearly 40 percent annually, to reach 91 gigawatts by the end of 2013 (1 gigawatt = 1,000 megawatts). Over 80 percent of this world-leading wind capacity is now feeding electricity to the grid.

Wind generation in 2013 could have been even higher, by an estimated 10 percent, but for the problem known as curtailment—when wind turbines are stopped because the grid cannot handle any more electricity. To help reduce curtailment and reach the official 2020 goal of 200 grid-connected gigawatts, China is building the world’s largest ultra-high-voltage transmission system. The raft of projects now under construction will connect the windier north and west to population centers in the central and eastern provinces."

This seems to be a good idea but expensive for India. I have seen a few static geothermal heating/cooling systems which can be built by any village plumber/mason. This is a bit complex. But doable, even in an apartment.

 

The theory is very simple: 8-10 feet underground the temperature is constant 15-17C. If you lay the pipes as shown and have well insulated doors and windows, after sometime the temperature inside would be [for me uncomfortable] 17C.

The study was funded by the Australian Government and undertaken by CSIRO in collaboration with the Solar Energy Corporation of India. The study also developed a concept design for a pilot scale Solar Gas facility and identified numerous potential host sites suitable for such a pilot project in India. [This is from Australian Embassy Press Release in Delhi]

The technology is based on combining sun ray, water and gas. The process "concentrates the sun’s rays to drive a reaction between water and natural gas which stores solar energy in the form of chemical bonds. The Solar Gas can then be used to produce high-efficiency electricity in a gas engine or turbine. Mirrors  focus solar energy onto a series of metal pipes, which creates temperatures of around 800°C inside them. Through these pipes a  flow of natural gas is mixed with something else. This ‘something else’ can be steam or carbon dioxide – both pretty common ingredients, suited to different situations."

The technology, as another report says was first developed by Australians [CSIRO] but another report from financial analysts says that the US Department of Energy is readying to roll out solar gas [or sun gas] in the USA.

Mehran Tavakoli Keshe is an Iranian Nuclear Engineer known for his research on plasma reactors and his research into free energy technologies.

It has been rumoured that he was the person who pioneered specific space technology which helped Iran catch, subdue and capture a US drone in December, 2011 near the Iran-Afghanistan border.

MT Keshe is the founder of the Keshe Foundation. The research conducted at the foundation by him and his team of research scientists claim to have potentially discovered controls for climate change, disease, space travel and mass transport employing Magnetic and Gravitational interacting fields. The Keshe Foundation has also been said to have formulated technologies around free energy. Some of these technologies are plasma based which have been developed directly by MT Keshe. MT Keshe has released three books so far, "The Universal Order of Creation of MATTERS", “The Structure of the Light” and “The Origin of the Universe”.

I just finished listening to a live interview on Project Camelot where Kerry Cassidy was interviewing MT Keshe and I confirm that what I am about to explain in relation to the following emails, was validated during that interview.

Solar Hydrogen Trends Inc. invented a Hydrogen Reactor.

 

The technology provides multifactorial hydrogen reactor design with elevated hydrogen production due to a set of sixteen (16) physical and chemical processes, acting simultaneously on the hydrogen bonds. The hydrogen reactor uses water as main fuel and its emissions are 100% clean (clean air).

 

The technology is non-volatile and produces free flowing hydrogen which can be compressed or used to convert to another form of energy.

 

The technology can be used as a free standing electrically powered device to produce unlimited amount of hydrogen at world’s cheapest rates or as a “bolt-on” hybrid solution.

 

On input of 500 watts, the mini reactor produces an output of 2,797 cubic feet of hydrogen per hour (electricity equivalent 221.5 kWh), at cost of $1.80

If what they claim is true and the reactor puts out many times the input equivalent in hydrogen, it may change the way we see energy as a scarce commodity...

The printing technology is called “contour crafting,” and has grabbed the attention of NASA as well as the National Inventors Hall of Fame. This giant technology (gigantic 3D printer) will be able to create entire structures out of concrete. Apparently contour crafting could also reduce the total cost of owning a home, and make it easier to repair homes that are damaged by natural events.
