Why would Apple make a watch?

Why would Apple make a watch? | Emprendimientos Agiles | Scoop.it

...If one thing is clear, it’s that Apple doesn’t see any of the current smart watches as competition. Apple’s aspirations are far far greater than to just shrink the iPhone and put it on your wrist. Apple wants to produce something so great that millions and millions of people who have never worn a watch will buy it and use it. This isn’t just a better smart watch, this is a better watch.

Purpose — Why make a watch?

Why make a watch? What can you do better on a watch than you can on a phone or a tablet? What can you only do with a watch that would otherwise be impossible in any other form factor? What can you do to make a watch so good that people who have never worn a watch start wearing one?

After weeks of mulling it over, here are some key requirements I believe will dictate the design of Apple’s iWatch....

It's not just a watch It's an Apple!

marissa goldberg's curator insight, September 9, 4:11 PM

-Mobile Marketing-

Mobile Marketing is no longer categorized as simply cell phones and tablets. As this kind of technology gets more popular we venture into new ways to take our information on the go. In 2013 Samsung coined the term 'wearable tech' with their very own smart watch called the "Samsung Galaxy Gear" which ignited the 'WT' trend. Quickly following the smart watch was a soft release of the "Google Glass" and the demand for these products is unprecedented.

This article talks about why Apple is jumping on the trend instead of sticking with their phones and tablets. It is a very interesting read that gives insight into the wearable tech market, and the future of Apple's brand.

Here are some reasons they list for making a watch as opposed to just coming out with a new phone:

-You will always be wearing it

-You will never forget you're wearing it

-It is more durable

-Revolutionary battery charging technology

-It can tell you the time all the time

It will also be beneficial in tracking your health from day to day including fitness, diet, heart rate ect.

Last but not least they talk about how Siri will be more advanced and how she will be able to say and do more for you in conjunction with your wearable Apple watch.

The Future of Digital Marketing is Already Here

The Future of Digital Marketing is Already Here | Emprendimientos Agiles | Scoop.it

The future of digital marketing is already here, especially when it comes to presenting highly engaging, personalized, relevant advertising to consumers.

... Let’s think back to the movie Minority Report, which was filmed in 2002 but set in 2054. In a famous scene, Tom Cruise’s character walks into a Gap store. He scans his retinas, and the ad begins speaking to him: “Welcome back to the Gap Mr. Yakamoto, how are those assorted tank tops working for you?”

This movie predicted that, 50 years from now, personalized, 1:1 marketing would be the status quo. Director Steven Spielberg must have had a crystal ball – except that his timing was off. This type of personalized 1:1 marketing is much closer to reality than we’d think, thanks to the advent of tools and technologies like iBeacons (which can trigger messages sent to your phone based on your proximity to a certain location) and richly customized user experiences (easily implemented with real-time personalization tools)....

As a B2B leader, do you know how to determine the ROI on your social media efforts? Incredible Ikea Billboard Tips an Apartment Sideways to Become a Rock-Climbing Wall

Incredible Ikea Billboard Tips an Apartment Sideways to Become a Rock-Climbing Wall | Emprendimientos Agiles | Scoop.it

Psst, maybe we shouldn't take this apartment—the floor seems kind of slanted.

Ikea promoted the opening of its 30th store in France by building an apartment into a vertical rock-climbing wall. Marketing shop Ubi Bene helped devise the impressive outdoor installation in the city of Clermont-Ferrand.

The wall is 9 meters high by 10 meters wide and fitted with steps and grips, allowing the public to navigate among stylish beds, cabinets, tables, chairs, sofas and accessories. (Using harnesses and with safety personnel on hand, naturally.)

The Swedish retailer's been in fine creative form with its marketing lately. Other notable efforts include lighting a forest with LED lamps to celebrate energy efficient bulbs, pitching its 2015 catalog as "cutting-edge technology" and teaming with Airbnb to give folks a chance to spend a night in one of its stores....

”Fuente: Forbes

Customers need to be enticed. A few of the lessons Sarah Goliger teaches us are that:  When creating a title make it a question. Don't limit your audience by having a narrow topic; go broad. Use rarely used adjectives. and use language which talks about the customer not you. Basically, just be creative.

Pushbullet started as simple app for taking advantage of the rich notification functionality that came out on Android in late 2012. The company’s founder, Ryan Oldenburg, realized that his notification tray could be much more useful if notifications could actually come with some text or imagery. It would allow you to get to needed information faster.

The Google Play Store shows it’s an app with over 500,000 installs so far and more than 40,000 people have given it ratings, with an average score of 4.6 stars out of 5. It’s also on iOS, if you’re an Apple user. There’s another statistic that’s neither present in the Play Store or App Store, however, but it’s been equally important for the company: 1,420

1,420 is the number of Pushbullet users who have joined its subreddit,/r/Pushbullet.

“Every app tends to attract ambassadors and I think the people on our subreddit are ambassadors,” Oldenburg told us....
