Nearly half of over 50s want to keep working between age 65 and 70.
Only 17% say that working full time and then stopping work altogether would be the best way for them to retire.
Ian Moss's insight:

Is 'flexible retirement' the biggest emerging area for employers? These figures show that half of over 50's want to carry on working between 65 and 70 and that a big majority want options to carry on working flexibly over 65. With age discrimination making retirement a more difficult area for employers these views of an aging population show the challenge for employers.

Great infographic from BCC confirming that businesses had record recruitment on Q4 2014 but are lowering expectations for the next quarter. An interesting light on the productivity figures which drop as recruitment increases signalling the labour intensive nature of UK business.

Ian Moss's insight:

Some mixed news on UK productivity - manufacturing productivity is up 5.2% in the year to end of Q3 of 2014 but services up only 0.8% and across the whole economy productivity is estimated to have declined 0.3% on output per hour worked. The UK still languishes in 6th place of the G7 nations an estimated 17% below the G7 average  for productivity per hour worked in 2013.
