5 Ways to Improve Employee Retention. January 18th, 2013 by Hagel and Company. Americans change jobs, on average, every four years. In a poor job market, an employee can spend years with one foot out the door.
Adyson-Noelle DeJardin's insight:
Employee retention is something I think can really carry an organization into a higher level of success than those companies who think employees are disposable. This is something I look for when looking for positions as well as articles I am interested in. If an organization is invested in its employees they are more likely to be invested in the organization and its customers. There are two highlighted areas that appealed to me most, 1) hire from within, 2) the idea of "stay" interviews. Both of these components can give an organization a component others may not feature. When team member feel they can grow within a company and that there opinions are being heard they may be likely to adjust to changes within the organization more positively. Even though change is hard if a team member feels the organization is there for them, they will be there for the organization.
