Dublin has some fantastic Yoga workshops coming up in the next month the first being a Somatic Yoga Workshop on Saturday 26th April 2014 with Estelle Birdy at The Olive Tree Studio Dublin.
During this 2.5 hour workshop, yogis will explore, through somatic movement, remaining comfortable in our bodies. We will move through gentle re educative movements to stronger asana, exploring the opportunities to remain settled in both mind and body, as we work.
With an emphasis on working with the individual bodies of the yoga workshop participants, we will try to find the true core and work from there outwards. We will endeavour to remain pain free throughout this exploratory yoga workshop. We will use asana, pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra to find truly peaceful strength within.
This is followed by a Hatha Yoga workshop, if you don’t know too much about Hatha Yoga, please read on.
Hatha Yoga is, officially, any kind of Yoga that involves physical postures for building flexibility and strength. Nearly all Yoga, in the West then, falls under the Hatha Yoga umbrella Unofficially, however, Hatha Yoga has come to describe a reasonably gentle, less aerobic form of Yoga class. Classes normally involve some physical posture work, (either flowing or more static), Pranayama,(energy control through breathing techniques), and relaxation/meditation.
