Human health risks from Electromagnetic Fields and Radio Frequency Radiation Real | Canada Free Press

Human health risks from Electromagnetic Fields and Radio Frequency Radiation Real | Canada Free Press | electromagnetic fields | Scoop.it

Bioinitiative 2012 has just released its 2012 report on January 7, 2013, an update of the 2007 version. It includes approximately 1,800 new studies on biological effects and adverse health effects from electromagnetic fields such as power lines, electrical wiring, appliances, hand-held devices, and from wireless technologies such as cell and cordless phones, cell towers, Wi-Fi, wireless laptops, wireless routers, baby monitors, surveillance systems, and wireless utility meters (smart meters).

The report has been prepared by 29 authors from 10 countries; ten researchers have medical degrees (MDs), twenty-one have PhDs, three have MsC, MA or MPHs. RF color charts can be downloaded as well as 4 links with summaries of hundreds of studies done between 1990 and 2012 on the “free radical damage from both RFR (radio frequency radiation) and ELF (extremely low frequency) and a set specific to electro-sensitivity.” (www.bioinitiative.org/report/research-summaries/)

New Metamaterial Camera Has Super-Fast Microwave Vision

New Metamaterial Camera Has Super-Fast Microwave Vision | electromagnetic fields | Scoop.it

A small, microwave-detecting camera that can see through solid materials in real time has been developed. Soon, the device could be adapted and used in law enforcement and security where, among other uses, its inventors envision airport scanners that screen passengers for weapons or explosives as they walk by.

The camera features a one-dimensional aperture made from a copper-based metamaterial. Fashioned from plastics or metals, metamaterials behave in ways that ordinary materials naturally do not. Some can cloak objects. Others can reveal them. Here, scientists used the copper-based metamaterial as an aperture for microwaves, the telecommunications workhorses that populate the longer end of the electromagnetic spectrum. By connecting the aperture to an image-reconstructing computer, the researchers can capture information from a scene in real time, with no moving parts.

Boeing’s Microwave Missile Project: Working like a CHAMP

Boeing’s Microwave Missile Project: Working like a CHAMP | electromagnetic fields | Scoop.it

To destroy an opponents intelligence, an often chosen method is to blow entire communication building to smithereens. While effective, destroying entire buildings not only ensures plenty of collateral damage, it also makes it much easier to paint a nation as blood-thirsty savages. Believing there to be a better way, Boeing Phantom Works teamed up with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to create the Counter-electronics High-powered Advanced Missile Project, or CHAMP for short.

CHAMP is an experimental missile which replaces common munitions with high-powered microwaves. CHAMP is designed to fly safely over buildings with the aforementioned satellites and communications equipment and fire directed and potent microwave beams at these buildings. Its designed to do this in order to ruin all electronics equipment inside, such as computers, networks and the like.

The Boeing and Air Force team conducted a test in an undisclosed location in Utah on October 16th and found that the CHAMP system worked, well, just like a champ. "Today we turned science fiction into science fact,” explained CHAMP program manager for Boeing Phantom Works, Keith Coleman in a statement.

Do Laptop Radiation Shields Offer Effective EMF Protection?

The only way to determine whether any EMF protection is effective, and to measure the degree of effectiveness, is to measure before and after remedy. Enerscope™ does exactly that, and more.

How To Protect Yourself from EMFs Naturally

How To Protect Yourself from EMFs Naturally | electromagnetic fields | Scoop.it
There is a growing awareness of the dangers of electromagnetic field (EMF) exposures. But what about the solutions? What can be done to protect yourself from the ever evolving EMF exposures in your environment?

Via Dave Wood
Ronald Content's insight:

There is only one way to directly protect yourself from EMF, and that way requires shielding. It's not hard to do, and it's not necessarily expensive, but it's the only way to reduce or eliminate the cell tower exposure. You combine this with prudent management of the internal sources. We have read no scientific literature, nor technical information, that has any alternative solution, short of shutting down the towers.

Neurosurgeon Shows How Low Levels of Radiation Such As Wi-Fi, Smart Meters And Cell Phones Cause The Blood Brain Barrier To Leak

Neurosurgeon Shows How Low Levels of Radiation Such As Wi-Fi, Smart Meters And Cell Phones Cause The Blood Brain Barrier To Leak | electromagnetic fields | Scoop.it

Dr. Salford called the potential implications of some of his research "terrifying."

Some of the most concerning conclusions result from the fact that the weakest exposure levels to wireless radiation caused the greatest effect in causing the blood brain barrier to leak.

Salford, chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at his institution, called the potential implications "terrifying." "We have good reason to believe," he said, "that what happens in rats' brains also happens in humans." Referring to today's teenagers, the study's authors wrote that "a whole generation of users may suffer negative effects, perhaps as early as in middle age."

Comment:

Since it is the weakest levels of radiation that show the most pronounced effect, it isn't the microwaves as such, but the ELF (extremely low frequency) modulation of the microwaves that is felt by cells and organs.

I know researchers are not onto that (yet), but when they start looking into secondary frequencies of microwave modulation, such as the 210 Hertz "packet" frequency used by cell phones, a way to prevent or at least limit the damage will all of a sudden jump into view.

A New Kind of Invisibility Cloak Demonstrates Better Cloaking Efficiency

A New Kind of Invisibility Cloak Demonstrates Better Cloaking Efficiency | electromagnetic fields | Scoop.it

Michigan Technological University’s invisibility cloak researchers have done it again. They’ve moved the bar on one of the holy grails of physics: making objects invisible.

Just last month, Elena Semouchkina, an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Michigan Tech, and her graduate student, Xiaohui Wang, reported successful experimental demonstration of the use of non-conductive ceramic metamaterials to cloak cylindrical objects from microwave-length electromagnetic waves. Previously, Semouchkina had designed a non-conductive glass metamaterial cloak that worked with infrared frequency waves, which are shorter than microwaves.

Then, scarcely was the ink dry on their report in the IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, a journal published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, when they developed a different cloaking approach.

This time, they used ordinary dielectric materials such as ceramics having differing dielectric permittivity—a measure of the response of a substance to an electrical field— instead of metamaterials, which are artificial materials with properties not found in nature. They found that they were able to cloak larger cylindrical objects and cloak them more effectively than they had using metamaterials.

This research, just published online and supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), also won Wang an honorable mention in an IEEE student papers competition. Wang’s paper will be listed in the Technical Program Booklet at an upcoming IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation. He received $1000 IEEE grant to travel to the symposium to present this work.
