My Thoughts:

After reading this article I started to worry due to the fact that I read that they will only have about a two percent growth rate. I then calmed down and realized that because I am going to a prestigious school like Embry- Riddle I knew that I would have a better chance at getting that job due to the fact that I will have a better understanding of how the systems work in the field that I want to go in, which is avionics. As I have been told by numerous graduates from Embry- Riddle when the company that you are interviewing for sees that you have a degree from there then you have a high chance you will get that job. Which bring me to the conclusion that when you go to college you not only pay for the education but you also pay for the prestige that also comes with you going to a certain school.

I am extremely pleased to hear that engineers had an astonishing low unemployment rate when the economy crashed in 2008. The latest unemployment rate that is stated in the article is in the low 2 percent when the national average is around 10 percent. I think that pursuing a career in engineering is a wise financial move for myself in the future as well as a way to develop some amazing technology for other people will use.
