Steve Vaitl's curator insight, March 26, 9:20 AM

Creative Commons is a great source for an extremely wide variety of photos, sketches and graphics that can be used free of charge. No licensing or royalties, EVER! It is a way to share work by making it available free of charge while still protecting it from others taking advantage of your work. Multiple levels of licensing/protection can be attached, from free use and editing rights all the way to non-commercial personal/educational use only with attribution, commercial use requires permission.

The platform will now be used to convert other existing University journals in the future as well as a ‘best of Huddersfield research’ title that will draw its content from the Repository.

One of the outcomes of the project was to develop this toolkit for other institutions to use.
