Wise Learners: Discover YOUR Personality Type! Get to Know Yourself Better!

Wise Learners: Discover YOUR Personality Type! Get to Know Yourself Better! | eLearning Technologies and Information | Scoop.it

Just how well do you know yourself or your kids? It may sound odd, but there is always more to know. This post is by request (yes I do requests). I was speaking to a friend earlier today. She is getting ready to graduate high school and she told me something I've heard hundreds of times from kids (and adults) when they ponder higher education...
"I don't know what I want to do with my life!"
...to which I responded
"CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!!"

A New Pedagogy is Emerging...And Online Learning is a Key Contributing Factor

A New Pedagogy is Emerging...And Online Learning is a Key Contributing Factor | eLearning Technologies and Information | Scoop.it

"In all the discussion about learning management systems, open educational resources (OERs), massive open online courses (MOOCs), and the benefits and challenges of online learning, perhaps the most important issues concern how technology is changing the way we teach, and - more importantly - the way students learn. For want of a better term, we call this 'pedagogy.' What is clear is that major changes in the way we teach post-secondary students are being triggered by online learning and the new technologies that increase flexibility in, and access to, post-secondary education."

Everything I Need To Know About Education ... I Learned In Kindergarten! - iPads in Education | eLearning Technologies and Information | Scoop.it

I was recently giving a workshop at a local elementary school. Walking around and speaking to teachers and children it suddenly dawned on me that several of the "revolutionary" educational changes we've been calling for have actually already been around for quite a while - just talk a stroll down to the Kindergarten classes.

6 Basic Benefits Of Game-Based Learning

6 Basic Benefits Of Game-Based Learning | eLearning Technologies and Information | Scoop.it

There seems to be a perception that online gaming has a detrimental impact on children’s development. Nothing could be further from the truth, and there are countless–and complex–reasons for this, but it also makes sense at the basic benefits of game-based learning.

These benefits also apply to adults using game-based learning for business or personal develoment.

Dr.Revathi Viswanath's curator insight, April 19, 2013 7:07 AM

Very true. It does help children to be more attentive and develops their level of concentration.

Tamra Dollar's curator insight, July 21, 2013 1:22 PM

Game-based-learning lines up with Marzano's brain-based-strategies. While games in and of themselves (like any technology) are a vehicle for learning that must be follow-up with real life connections and applications or we've given our students..well..just another game to play.
