New Plugin - Grade Distribution Report

New Plugin - Grade Distribution Report | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
A new plugin released this week in the Moodle Plugins database is Grade Distribution report plugin which allows for viewing the distribution of student grades for a course regarding the current grade letter boundaries as well as changing these to shift the distribution.

Usually the grades needs to be informed to students at the beginning of the term however there may be some cases when you need to update the letter grades. The grade distribution visualizes the grades of students. Changes to letter grades (i.e. the boundary of a grade) can be analysed visually, saved and therefore overwritten if necessary.

Where's My Feedback? - New Reports Plugin Available

Where's My Feedback? - New Reports Plugin Available | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
If you have worked with Moodle any length of time it is likely you have been asked the question “where’s my feedback” at some point. Thanks to Jessica Gramp the answer just got a lot easier with development a new reports plugin “My Feedback”.

When installed this report provides users with an overview of all feedback across all their courses from activities such as:

Moodle Assignments
Turnitin Assignments
Workshops
Quizzes

The plugin still needs a little work but has a lot of potential and is now available for download from the the Moodle plugins repository:

https://moodle.org/plugins/view/report_myfeedback

Taking this idea a little further it would be nice to have a block for “My Home” (or Dashboard as it is to become) that showed recent feedback linking to a report like this.

How To Run a Moodle Activity Report

How To Run a Moodle Activity Report | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
Moodle has become one of the most popular online learning management programs for teachers in all grade levels to utilize. Much of this is thanks to how easy it is for people to utilize a Moodle activity report for their many educational needs.

One part of Moodle that all professionals can use comes in the form of an activity report. A Moodle activity report will show the views for all activities and resources and can be used to keep statistics on the ways how students are using different types of activities while on Moodle. The information listed in such an activity report can be to anyone’s benefit as people will begin to clearly notice how easy it can be for different projects to be run as necessary.

The purpose is to track student progress and to ensure that students are taking advantage of the online learning functions that they are supposed to be utilizing. This is critical as students need to use the online learning features of Moodle in order to actually get anywhere when it comes to learning the right way.

The process for running a Moodle activity report is critical for all to follow. If the right standards are utilized then it should be rather easy for all to utilize different parts out of a process.

Moodle 2.5 Course Reports Beginner Tutorial

Moodle 2.5 Course Reports Beginner Tutorial | elearning stuff | Scoop.it

Moodle course reports beginner tutorial. Course reports page can be a very powerful tracking tool in Moodle. It allows instructors to view course logs, user activity reports, and course statistics based on users, times, or activity modules.

An instructor might use reports to gauge how many students opened an article he or she wanted them to read before lecture. More importantly, it can show who did not open the article. The night before the lecture, however, you can send out an email to all the students that did not complete the reading to remind them. This feature is helpful because it will not email the students that have already completed the activity. You can also use reports to gauge when students are logging into your course the most. For instance, say Sunday always has twice as many views as Thursday. You might adjust the time you post material or require the completion of an assignment to better fit the activity of your students.

Checking on participants falling behind in a course on Moodle

Checking on participants falling behind in a course on Moodle | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
Access the list of participants through the Navigation block on the course homepage or the People block if it's there. Look for the option called "inactive for more than" at the top of the participant list. You'll see some time periods going back to the beginning of the course. I'm now helping run a course that started on 1 February, almost three weeks back, so I see the following options:

Displaying “Number Of Attempts” Report on Moodle Home Page

Displaying “Number Of Attempts” Report on Moodle Home Page | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
In this blog, we will look at another important report – Number of attempts.

This report helps the training manager to track the number of attempts made by a learner to complete a particular course. This goes a long way in helping a manager track the status and performance of an individual.

Let us now see how to get easy access to this report by adding it on the home page under Configurable reports. This allows training managers to access important and frequently-used reports by displaying them on the home page. You have to create this report to all courses. After creating the report, we have to perform some steps to display it on home page.
