8 Creative Uses of Google Drawings You Shouldn’t Ignore | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
Did you ever click the bright red "New" button inside your Google Drive? Google Drawings isn't at the forefront of tools. The limelight is reserved for Docs, Sheets, and Slides. But let's do a reawakening of sorts and click on More to go to the "neglected" siblings. We have seen the usefulness of Google Forms. It's time…

MFaculty's curator insight, August 4, 2015 8:43 AM

Google drawing is yet another "hidden gem" well worth mining for. Just as versatile as 'paint' but perhaps more easily incorporated into your daily drawing needs.

If you're looking for an alternative to paint, or just need a collaborative app to work with teams at a distance, this is well worth checking out!

New Google Analytics Social Reports: Measure SMM Value, View Streams

New Google Analytics Social Reports: Measure SMM Value, View Streams | elearning stuff | Scoop.it

This is the quesiton who is on the lips of anyone active in social media, "what is the ROI of social media" Google and its new tools can be an additional response. [note mg]

Google’s new suite of Social reports within their Analytics platform launches tomorrow. Among the new features, users can compare last-click to assisted conversions, see Social Visitors Flow, view select social streams in Analytics, and more.

The Google Analytics team has just announced a new set of reports to help marketers more accurately measure the actual value of social media. Speaking at SES New York this morning, Google shared the news of the immediate, incremental launch of their new Social Reports.

In an interview with Search Engine Watch, Group Product Manager Phil Mui explained how the new Google Analytics social reports allow marketers to measure both the last-click and the “assisted” upper-funnel value of social.

Google Apps Integration in Moodle

Google Apps Integration in Moodle | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
This is a new integration between Moodle and Google, allowing you to benefit from the two platforms working seamlessly together.

You will need to centralize the authentication process. You can choose whether you want to login using Google Apps credentials, Moodle credentials, or an existing identity provider (if your institution has a centralized directory).

If you decide to use your Moodle credentials for login, you can implement a Single Sign On (SSO) solution to preserve the session between systems, and avoid any direct connections to database. If you use your Google credentials, you can login through an OAuth2 sign-in method. If you choose to use your existing identity provider, you can configure an SSO solution to allow Moodle and Google access through the same credentials, while keeping the session between them running. It’s a simple integration, as Moodle users are automatically created in Google Apps (Google Docs, Calendar, and Gmail). On the Google side of things, there is a Google Widget that will generate a link to Moodle in your Google account.

Creating Badges with Google Sheets

Creating Badges with Google Sheets | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
Thinking about adding badges to your class? There are many ways to award students badges including using Class Badges.

Such a simple but clever system using Google Docs and relying heavily on the very impressive image function. No need for students to sign up to other cloud based storage systems - can all be done through google products and some sharing.

Have tried to replicate this on OneDrive. Can't do it :O(

25 Awesome Free Google Tools for Marketers | elearning stuff | Scoop.it

Whether you love Google or love to hate Google, you have to admit one thing. Google offers a lot of free tools to use with the convenience of being able to access them with one login.

Marketers in particular should take advantage of these tools to get more out of their search engine and social media marketing experience. The following are some of the top Google tools marketers should embrace from A to (almost) Z!

1. Google AdSense

Ever created a niche website for linking purposes, affiliate marketing, content development, or another reason that never panned out? If the website gets even a moderate amount of traffic, and you have no other use for it for the time being, why not earn a little income off of it using Google AdSense? By simply placing some ad code in the header, content, and sidebar of the website, you can earn some passive income. The amount you earn will depend on the topic of the website and the amount of visitors it receives.
