The Moodle Association shows a June 2015 launch date and information is starting to become available (in addition to opinions) at Moodle.org (https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=313217). Martin Dougiamas has also started to talk more about it in his keynotes including one this morning at the iMoot.

The association will be a key component of the Moodle community organization and could drastically start to change the dynamics of how Moodle development is funded. Here’s a slide from Martin’s deck which demonstrates the shift in funding.

Tips to test your eLearning

Tips to test your eLearning | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
A stitch in time saves nine”, one of those classic old sayings that defies social, technological and spiritual upheavals and constantly rings true. Unlike “You want to have your cake and eat it too” which never made any sense to me because what is the point of cake if you cannot eat it, but I digress.

The concept of a little preventative action early on, allowing us to avoid lengthy, costly, frustrating and embarrassing re-work down the track. This is a concept that applies directly to eLearning development too and for eLearning development our stitch in time is testing.

elearning developmentThis testing falls under a number of banners, testing whilst we develop, testing once the content piece is complete and testing when we receive SME or client changes. Lets explore each of these periods in the development of piece of eLearning and take note of what you need to check at each stage.

Designing Moodle Themes for Learners | elearning stuff | Scoop.it
Learners know that a website should be intuitive and instinctive. Moodle should be no exception. We are currently designing and developing several projects that focus on Moodle themes for learners and have shared some of our developments here.

The MyMoodle page (student dashboard) makes for a superb landing page. But it lacks some inspiration. The screenshot above shows how a simplified interface makes using the site second nature to learners.
