Narrative Strategies for Learning | Usable Learning

Narrative Strategies for Learning | Usable Learning | elearning stuff | Scoop.it

by Julie Dirksen

"So this session is about pulling some of the specific strategies that fiction writers use to into learning scenarios.  There are a lot of other interesting ways to explore storytelling in terms of meta-structures, psychology and cultural constructs.  This isn’t that presentation (though I’ll probably do that one too, one of these days).

"This presentation is focused on specific strategies for making learning stories more interesting."

Via Jim Lerman
Jim Lerman's curator insight, May 22, 4:40 PM

Lots of people talk about how important it is to tell a story when trying to inform, entertain, persuade, or teach someone something; but they usually don't tell you how to do that. Or, if they try to tell you, they don't do it very well.

Dirksen is not one of those people. She explains very well and this slide deck is a terrific distillation of a great deal of wise information. This is really good!
